Why would I have any contempt for Trion.

I may be a bit frustrated by the way things are going but I think this is one of the best games I've played and I respect the devs and employees.
I may not agree with the way things are done but that doesn't mean that I hold them in contempt, if you get that impression from my posts my apologies.

I think we're all frustrated with the way things have gone. Defiance is the only game I play, the only game I wanna play...much respect to the Devs doing what they've done with the game with the little resources they've been allotted. It just seems that after three + years of being up and running this game should not be having any issues but it does and it's the same issues each and every time. Yet we keep coming back and we play.
The player base, as of late, even seems to be growing. I've seen alot of new names and faces but in order to retain them something has to be done server side. These newer players aren't used to the nuances of the game we experience daily and many of them out of frustration or disgust will more than likely move on to other titles.
If Trion says this game is in a good state and that they have no plans of pulling the plug anytime soon where's all the fixes?

The point is a lot of people don't see it for what it is, and are quickly frustrated with this game.

    3 very important points:

    - The TV series has ended. Hence why they haven't added to the story in forever and won't be doing so in the future.
    - This game is 3 years old and is still incredibly faulty off and on. It should never take that long to fix a game.
    - This game will never go next-gen console. It is stuck on X360. The fan base is too small. And with the release of the Xbox One & PlayStation 4, a lot of their customer base has gone elsewhere to newer things and sold their X360. Trion wanted it to go next-gen, but got slapped down.

Now you sum these 3 points. And you can see there isn't much of a future for this game. It's just idling by.

Don't have such high expectations for this that all the issues/bugs/bad connectivity are gonna change for the better permanently! Cause you're just gonna let down. It has it ups & downs.

For Trion, I suppose this game is funding their new developments with whatever else they are making.

Johnny Gatt probably said it best here:

Is this true? Trion got shut down about bringing Defiance to next gen consoles? Do you have a source that I can read about this?
...and I believe you are 100% correct on Trion using this cow to fund their other projects.

You can google it and find lots of stuff on the subject of Defiance and next-gen consoles.

    But here's one, read #6:

    http://www.trionworlds.com/defiance/...er-qa-june-19/

And here we all know what "indefinite hiatus" means.

Many took it as a sign when it went F2P that it would never go next-gen as well.
But I mean, even F2P games like Happy Wars went to X1. lol..
    World of Tanks as well.

Thanks for the links. I've heard it being talked about in forums not going next gen but now that I see basically as close to an actual response from Trion, I find it disheartening.
Bringing Defiance to next gen, in my opinion, would be a huge revenue generator.

Well on xbx it was something we were invited to go and vote on to make it backwards compatible.
I also understood from an article somewhere, sorry don't have a link but the work to do it was undertaken by Microsoft.

Someone somewhere had a link in their sig to the thread and link kiwi asked us to sign up on.

Yeah, I had seen that too.
Though, generally if they are asking people to sign up to get something enacted, it's already not a good sign.
Not sure if they had to do that to get F2P games like Happy Wars or World of Tanks to get on X1.

I had read something a good while ago, Trion didn't want to do next-gen yet because the user base on next-gen consoles was still small. But that has since changed, and that article was pretty old.
So, obviously there are other issues with the idea on hand.
