Defiance the show started off a bit slow but about half way through the first season it really takes off.

Basically what it boiled down to with its cancellation was:
-even though it was pretty much their highest rated show on at the time, it had a tiny budget
-Dodge and other advertisers pulled out early in season 3
-prices of the actors and such were increasing
-bickering between Syfy and Trion, basically the left foot not knowing what the right hand is doing
-other shows on at the time (Dominion, Helix) were mostly bombs
Syfy execs pretty much came to the conclusion to scrap everything and just start fresh with shows like Killjoys, Darkmatter, the Expanse.

HAHA, I was thinking the same thing.

As far as SyFy shows go, I've watched the channel a few times.
On average, it seems like they are more about quantity than quality, dishing out several shows at once & one right after the other.
There have been some that have lasted a good while, but for the most part, a lot of SyFy shows don't get many seasons.

I'm not sure if the OP is trying to create a spam account or is just re-posting stuff trying to troll but their post is an exact copy of this post on another site from over 3 years ago:

The best SyFy shows are cancelled for political reasons, just look at Firefly, great show, actors and theme but because it made the establishment feds look like the scum they really are and not glorify them, they shut it down because it was too close to the libertarian/freedom loving truth. This should tell you the kind of people that run Hollywood, a bunch of marxist scum.

They say most of your brain shuts down on the Defiance forums. All but the impatient side, and the sarcastic side. No wonder I'm still awake.

Yea, so sad. I guess that's one of the rules of modern society: "oh, look, there's good art... let's kill it", which makes me, as a passionate lover of all arts, very sad.

Firefly was not cancelled due to politics but because episodes were aired out of order and the fact that Fox has no idea how to market a Sci-Fi show which leads to them quickly pulling the plug (Dollhouse, Almost Human, Terra Nova).

Just out of curiosity, what are you thoughts on the US astronauts landing on the moon and the assassination of JFK?
