i agree they need alot more weapons and a hell of alot more synergries to go with the weapons, all these people whinging that it will be too unbalanced etc i think you wrong, i played diablo 2 lod for about 8 years, and a good player could beat anyone no matter what gear they had on, i thnk the games needs this otherwise it will die on its feet, everyone i know that plays mmorpg gets bored and leaves unless theres that endlessness to it, and i dont just me doing missions or leveling guns, i mean finding new weapons that are so rare no one else has them, having to spend months killing bosses and bad guys to find the gear you need, having a proper trading system were theres actual value to the items, alot different mods for weapons so everyones stuff is not the same lol, like diablo 2 system say a hydra bow for example cause there was so many synergies you could literally get 10,000 hydra bows that were all different, and the life on here sucks you go up to level 1000 and you still have the same hp you had when you were level one? whats that all about you should get skills and stats not just ego skills, otherwise everyone is the same, whats the point of making new charectors if you can build them differently and make them better at different things? it just seems pointless once you do all the missions and max your charector out and you all the same ****ty weapons you need your done, yeah tehre will be more quests with the tv show but who just wants to do quests? there has to be other attributes to the game that make it better, ( better pvp system/ better charector building / 1000's of more items need to be made / better trading system) the game lacks so much, and so many people say dont compare it to WoW or Diablo 2 or what ever but there two of the most successfull mmorpg ever made even look at runescape for god sake it has more to it that this, i love this game i think its cool but it lacks so much of whats needed to keep a gamer gripped in for years to come,

slate me all you want but ive played mmorpg all my life and for the things you can do this has to be the worst there is so little to it, yes it has a wonderfully big world and looads of quests but besides that theres nothing just a mundane game thats the same over and over cause there no other reason to play it but questing.

My post was a basic calculation of a random weapon not including player based multipliers like bloom and recoil, hip or scope fire etc etc.

It was not and does not need to be based of hitting any mob in particular, that will be unique to each mobs shield and armor.

It is actually the simplest explanation of weapon progression dumbed down to a % increase.

My weapons now carry +7% increases (ie. x1.07 firerate, damage, x1.15 crit damage) etc which makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE in overall damage output.

When combined with the correct perks and weapon proficiency (-recoil, -reload, - bloom, +crit damage etc) the rate of damage progression can be further developed by the player.

I guess I've never been a hardcore MMORPG person because I never understood why the quests and storylines weren't more thought out and better put together. It always felt like it was just a grind for loot and items instead of following a storyline and trying to play through that. I understand a ton of people play them for the grind and endgame, but I play for the story and the gameplay. I loved The Old Republic because of all the different stories for each class. This game will be a good game in my mind if the story and side missions all make sense and are a well told story.

frankly the game doesnt have much to offer imo, its very lacking in content, they expect you to do the same 6 or so dynamic events and handfull of arkfalls over and over again and for what purpose??
No endgame content? - do you even know how this game is going to work?

To all the people complaining, just leave already... I'm so sick of people bashing games that have not even been out a week.

HEY! I know... why don't you all go buy WarZ? - that game will provide endless hours of complaining and that's sure to keep a lot of you happy.. right?

You guys ever stop to think why so many companies are switching to console releases? maybe it's because the developers are sick of producing titles that get hammered by complaints in the first week by ungrateful PC Gamers who always want more but are not content to wait for it.

If this game flops this will be the reason why. No matter how much you "theory crafters" try to point out the tiny progression you can gain from level 1 to 5000 this game still does not have the carrot on the stick that drives mmos. And the pvp isn't good enough to compete against existing shooters much less all the new ones that are released three times a year.

But I do love to hear the mmo noobies screaming about how "this isnt a wow clone" Wow didn't invent the traditional way gear progression is handled in mmos, youre off by about 10 years, well that is if you don't count the pen and paper games where it actualy comes from. Theres a reason mmos use the gear progression mechanic, IT WORKS.

the progression seemed to stop after 600 or so. No new type of weapons anymore since then.

yeah the storys concept is all good but i just dont think its enough to keep a game going, all the mmorpg ive played that have been really good and stayed alove for years have all had those major points about them, and all the ones that havnt have died young, just my opinion on these games

In a way, the skills with weapons reminds me of Ultima Online.
    IN UO, weapons have classes.
For example, Axes, broadswords would be classed as Swords.
Katanas, Kryss, and daggers would be classed as Fencing.

Swords and Fencing [I played before they had boosts over 100], went from 0 to 100.
So let's say you managed to pick up an axe, and managed to keep it [weapons wore out, had to be repaired, if repair failed the weapon would be lost, also repair never repaired the weapon for 100%, so it would be lost over time, hence you'd replace it with another axe].
In theory that axe could take you from 0 to 100 in swords, without the need to switch weapons. Which, IMO, is a superior system to world of warcraft [where weapons were tied to toon levels]. Weapons in UO had "buffs" or abilities, so people would switch them out for what ever they were looking for.

IMO, that would be a good way for the weapon skill system to work here. You pick up a weapon, lets say a LMG. You use it from low skill, to max LMG skill. Only reason why you should be switching is for the "buffs" or abilities change, as you face different mobs. You shouldn't have to change because you "maxed" out skill level on current level weapon. That to me is confusing.
Instead, let me pick up a white LMG, and gain skill with it. As I gain skill, damage should increase, reload speed increase, recoil should reduce; as should happen with any weapon. Because the more experience you have, the better you can handle it. The only reason why I should trade out the white LMG for a green one, is because the green has buffs/abilities on it that I may want.

My apologies for a long winded post.

And I'd say it starts at around 650, because that when more interesting synergies start showing up on weapons. /shrug
