And the pvp isn't good enough to compete against existing shooters much less all the new ones that are released three times a year.

But I do love to hear the mmo noobies screaming about how "this isnt a wow clone" Wow didn't invent the traditional way gear progression is handled in mmos, youre off by about 10 years, well that is if you don't count the pen and paper games where it actualy comes from. Theres a reason mmos use the gear progression mechanic, IT WORKS.
so right people dont understand that it works and its the only thing that does work with mmorpgs, and another thing people dont understand saying "goo back to WoW" or what ever but the majority people that wikll buy this game will be mmorpg veterans and they know what to expect from and rpg and what it needs to last.

Ok.. first off.. I hate to be the bearer of bad news to you.. but I'm one stating, LOUD AND CLEAR.. that this is NOT A WOW CLONE. And I'll tell you straight out.. I ALPHA TESTED WoW more than 9 years ago, so I think I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about from a rather experienced point of view. So, unless you first computer used punch cards or your first game came on 8" FLOPPY DISKS, I think I've got ya in the gaming experience venue by a few years here.

And your right.. WoW didn't invent the "traditional way of gear progression".. they convoluted and destroyed it from what WAS a working system, that does indeed come from pen and paper. The reason: because the "haxxors" or "371t35" or "733t's" or however their netspeaking it these days found ways to take that version from the pen and paper games, utilizing the previously imperfect system of programming, and gank the living crap out of it, making themselves OP without ever breaking a single rule or needing a single "hax"...

And gear progression.. as you find in WoW, SWTOR, and many other games.. DOES NOT WORK. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.. but that entire system is flawed. Think I'm wrong? Then ask yourself this.. at what level does someone in either of those games become worthy of questing? At what level are they worthy of joining your team? At what level can they party up with you for raids?

Oh wait.. that's right.. it's not about level.. it's not about player ability.. it's ALL ABOUT THE GEAR, and how much they've grinded and spend online with no life at all to get that gear, and in your eyes and theirs... that gear = your approval. If you call that a "working system".. by all means.. the exit is stage left, and your welcome to take it and be on your merry way

Who cares about all the different weapons when most of them suck. Unless you can turn a white weapon orange or what ever the highest level is through modding. So far from what I see some weapons can not be modded at all. So those are just filler material?

Nearly a kilo. 904 points, if my memory serves. Nevertheless I've capped only few weapons (3 or 4 maybe) this far. And I like to disagree with the guns getting better. One orange gun I got has 0.7 times multiplier on reload speed, that's a lot. Additionally, synergy bonuses AND grenade refill 15% per kill.

I'd say it beats the greens by a mile.

I think the system goes that max out a single weapon, salvage the mods from it and put them on another one.

I'm not bored. Plenty there to go for weapon skills. Best is merely at level 7...

ypur wrong it does work, look at diablo 2 you cuols quest the whole game at any level it didnt matter, you could join clans at any level it didnt matter if you would a good enough player i used to beat level 99's with my level 29 lld's diablo 2 had the system right it was perfect if you can explain to me how its flawed then fair enough but i dont think you can, no matter how "rich" you were in the game you could still do anything anyone else could, my account got hacked and i lost 1000's of pound worth of gear and in a few month i had most of it back and i was still pwning everyone that was richer.

Newsflash.. Diablo 2 has a DIFFERENT SYSTEM than WoW.. WoW is the basis we are using here, please stay with the program.

no we dont need to stay to the program im saying diablo 2 worked. why not use a simmilar sytem WoW sucked i never liked it diablo 2 was the daddy of mmorpg in my opinion most games are ****ty diablo clones, even wow look at the first few warcrafts they were nothing like WoW, then DIablo was such a hit and worked so well they basically merged warcraft and diablo to make the biggest selling mmorpg of all time, if defiance want to compete in the mmorpg world they need to step it up.

I agree completely. Good lord, the retail version JUST came out, and there IS more content to come, according to things I've read.

I like the fact that the DLC content/features will be playable by all, and those who pay will get new races to play, at least that's what I read in the blog. I would suspect that as long as the TV series does well, the game should progress into something really decent. We may be saying, "What a lack of content..." but who knows? Perhaps someone who picks up the game a year from now will be tickled pink with all the goodies.
Damn the torpedoes! Ahead Warp Factor Nine!
