Not everyone can win a jack pot weapon... that's really not much of an issue, although it can be an issue when the same players always seem to win SEVERAL jackpot weapons in every event. rather unfair distribution, but if Trion Devs want to kill the game... that is a good way to start.
My personal issue is with the cash boxes. I have purchased several, only to scrap at least 95% as epic repeats of/and junk that I have no use for. I have now reached the point where I feel that purchasing cash boxes has become a complete waste of time. If I scrap more than 95% of the items I purchase with cash... the scrip I am earning becomes awful expensive... and if I am only purchasing scrip that I cannot use otherwise... then what is the point of purchasing?
Add to that... the karma/darma system is not working for me. I participate in a f***ton of event arkfalls, with the resulting lack of legendary(OJ) items. and jackpots are, without any doubt, just not going to happen for me.
I have purchased a lot of premium boxes, and I almost always get duplicate mods and junk epics. to date, in over a year... I have gotten from premium boxes....3 JP weapons, and one was a duplicate.
Again, this brings me back to wondering, what is the point of purchasing?... other than to help trion pay for the crappy servers that cannot support the number of players during events, which ruins game play for a good many players.
Seriously Trion, I am done paying for scrip. fix the system.
On average my non PP toons, when I run them, take about 8 hours a day 7 days a week hitting every event to get a jackpot. Sometimes it's less, sometimes it's more but that's about average. Running 4 toons 10 hours a day I would get one about every 5-7 days. So that's roughly 200 hours of game-play running with a very active clan. Shard hopping, hitting every final that pops during the time your on... to get a jackpot without Patron Pass. With Patron pass the average number of majors is between 70-100 for a Karma drop. You could always try joining a very active clan on your server. The clans I'm in give away a lot of there duplicate jackpots to their fellow clanmates. Good luck with the next event. I know I'm going to be hitting it hard... lots of nice goodies there.

on the weekends during events, I can easily top 100 arkfalls per day on any one toon, and I have Patron... still no jackpots, not even OJ's... just the rare epic drop of which everyone gets.
Trion moderators assure me the PP/Karma is working as it is designed... I feel inclined to disagree.
And here is another problem.... I work full time... it would be great to be able to play all week long and have someone pay my bills for me... but.... i work so i can afford to buy stuff... if it is worth buying..
Trion like most other game hosts, cater to the wrong players.... while popularity is with the unemployed teenagers, and the assumption of more advertising means more players to buy stuff... the money is being provided by the working class.
If Trion were to cater to the working class, they would surely see an increase in profits.
Keep track of your arkfalls manually either with a collection system where you save one blue mod per major you do or with the old pen and pad system. You are supposed to receive 1 random Jackpot per 100 karma points you accrue at the rate of 1 point per major event arkfall. If you reach 100 points and do not receive your karma drop do a trouble ticket because there is something wrong with your account.

I'm sure we are all learning getting jp weapons is not trions issue here, its getting money for nothing
Wow, that sounds like a full time job!You sound like some of my hardcore clan-mates. If you could convert weapons/items/scrip etc into real world currency, I would consider it
Or even if you could convert scrip into bits so you could purchase things from the Defiance store. Or even buy more reputation (like the bribes)...
For me, if I invest that much time in something, it has to seem worth it. Do you find it worth it? And do you enjoy it?![]()
Classic Defiance: [Py'Numbra's Jackpots] [Cyber Rig Info] [Expedition Jackpots] [Manufacturer Bonuses]
Well first off I love Defiance... I love the story and my main character I play, the general camaraderie and fellowship on PC/NA and all of the many friends I've made. Apart from that I also love the chase for the 'Perfect Weapon' as some of us refer to it. Chasing after the newest toys in the game and building my character up to be the best it can be. Apart from that when I actually have good internet available I enjoy chasing arkfalls and trying to get the newest shineys for myself and my friends. The friendship is probably the best part. I have personally helped a number of players to get the special weapons they were after and have had quite a few do the same for me. I see a weapon and I'm like ooh nice... I want to try that and usually the next thing I know someone says "Hey I have a spare you can have." There's also trying to collect whatever item it is you want to collect whether it be a set of charge blades, all the AR JP's or all the outfits in the game. I find the time I spend in Defiance to be worth it but I'm a rather simple person and it reminds me of when I use to play FPS games with my friends on a home network. For me it's worth it... all the time and effort I put into it is rewarded in the friendships I have grown and developed in the three years or so I've been playing it. I could go on but I think I've answered it to the best of my ability as far as for myself. I don't know why some people continue to play a game they're not happy with and don't find anything but bugs and issues and things that could be better... I'm happy with Defiance and my time in it is very fulfilling.

Thank you for such a full and complete response, Menetekel.
It’s nice to see someone talk so passionately about the game.
I think the friendship is an important point: if the game was good, but the players were bad, the game would fail. On the other hand, if you have enough (decent) players, they can outweigh some of the flaws and hold it all together.
Don't forget its a post-apocalyptic universe... the flaws are just there to create the right atmosphere and ambiance ;-)
