No they have not! They officially started working on this game in late 2010. Before that they were fully focussed on RIFT and getting that out of the door in March 2011.

And 2 to 2 and half years of Development feels more in line of the subpar Product we got delivered today. Just like Cryptic With their Champions Online and Star Trek Online games.

If they really had been working on this game for over 4 years, then we would have gotten a much better game today, With an actual working chat system! Ark Fall events that at least resemble the same Dynamic and diversity of Rifts in RIFT, better progression, better loot tables, better itemization, etc.

But sure.... whatever man.

Look into Trion's history. It exists because of investment from SyFy. A TV series takes a very long time to produce and plan, let alone an MMO.

In many respects, Trion's raison d'etre is Defiance. Rift was merely a proof of concept.

Though the game fits what I like, I can see where you are coming from. Also, I like the cool headed approach to your conclusion; Instead of some angry hyped forum guy who wants attention. I can validly see your point.

Yet there is NOTHING like this amount of content in Defiance at launch, this is the issue. People are already bored and they havent even finished the main quest line because it's all so repetitive and dull.

I've been playing at least 1 month before beta 3 and I love it. Love the side missions, the hotshots, the time trials, the Episode missions are great, the main quest missions are fun.

Loving the story that's going on as well.

Hell, I even enjoy the PvP and I hate most PvP in MMO's.

The Co-Op maps are a blast.

Shadow Wars...unfortunately, haven't been able to get in one, but haven't tried much. Too busy doing quests and annihilating Arkfall's. Tired of the Hellbug Destruction one yes, but the Mother of All Bugs, Scrappers, Raiders, and 99er Arkfall's are a frackin' blast.

If you're bored, then shooters aren't really your thing. xD

That and trying to get some of the pursuits is a fun pain in the ***.

I don't plan on quitting any time soon, as this Shooter/MMO has been the most fun that I have had in a while. Sure I'm anticipating NW Online and Marvel Heroes, and occasionally step into Firefall and Smite from time to time.

All I need to do is eventually find a clan to join on PC as most of my friends have stepped out of gaming and I'm working on getting back in.

I just need to find out why I still top charts in co-op missions even while running all over mid-combat looking for achievements as to not slow down the pace of the mission... :P

The deal between Trion Worlds and SyFy was officially signed in 2010! No work will be done by either SyFy nor Trion until such deal is official and signed by both companies.

I dunno. ArcheAge is going to be a huge cash cow for Trion as they're just publishing for the Western World.
