Let's be honest. Who is close to quitting?

Given that I'm on the PC, I can't really 'quit' as such. There's no subscription to cancel or anything.

That said... It's getting pretty tired up in here. There's no real power advancement. At rank 500 I'm marginally more powerful than I was at rank 10. Taking every possible damage passive I can think of still only results in absurdly situational things like, '2% damage increase when the sun is up' or '1% crit increase when standing on your head', such that the maximum damage boost I can ever look forward to is something around 30%-50% at max level, and even then only if the stars and planets are alignment - the base in any other situation is likely to be closer to 10%.

Considering that you only find more powerful weapons by rarity, not rank, means that purple rank 50 you found is still better than the green 500+s. Only you can't use it if you maxed its individual exp long ago, because then you're gimping your ability to advance weapon skills. Your reward for spending a fortune pimping out a weapon you really like is effectively to never use it again.

All it means is that you're experiencing pretty much no tangible power increase, only versatility - and minor at that. No power increase means the only incentive you have for grinding repetitive, homogenous activities in tediously similar biomes is to advance a lacklustre plot or unlock achievements you don't care about. It'd be like playing Borderlands only none of the guns that drop are better than any of the ones you already have. Kinda kills all the joy of looting.

Wow the game isn't even 2 weeks old and there are a lot of critics out there. Wait for some of the patches and fixes to come out. Let's try to give the game creators at least 30 days before we crucify the game.

The tragedy is that they have already lost their chance to really make the game a major success. The game was simply not thought out well, and its entirely the fault of the company. Instead of learning from other MMOs mistakes *cough* Guild Wars *cough* they chose to do the same things that have driven players away from MMOs and kept the things that have been making MMOs so great out... your speaking for everyone? because last i checked i was having a blast my ego rating is 125 and i have only touched about 1/3 maybe even only 1/4 of the map they have available so far, i mean theirs plenty to do missions, rampage, time trials, arkfalls, pvp, dungeons and plenty more good stuff. If you beat the game at such a high rate you should try playing through it again especially now that a lot of people are further down the road i dunno about others but there were a few missions i had to solo that had a sh!t ton of
mobs and i died multiple times it may be easy to zerg stuff with lots of players but i would imagine with the game still being so fresh stuff is going to get much harder or at least more there of. on that note ESO does look cool but i have a bad feeling about it being a pile of crap everyone will get bored of in a month, but well see.

Well - after todays incident, I've decided to leave.

I just bought the VBI faction sniper rifle - 200 faction points. I entered Shadow Wars, and it was gone..poof...

Got of the chat with a GM...here's the response:

GM <random name here>: Ok, sadly we will be unable to restore the exact item missing as our tools do not allow for that. But what I can do is send you another random purple item, as well as 3 days of script and loot boost and a lock box.

Well - whoopedidooo! I just spend a week farming those faction points to get that rifle..and this is the best you can come up with? Im sorry but that just ain't good enough. I dont need any boosts as I got plenty through my DDE. Random purple?! What the f...if I wanted random purples I would go farm some arkfalls...

I want my sniper rifle with precision synergy+corresponding mods OR at least my lost faction points back.

Tbh, launching a game without giving your GM's any means of reimbursing lost items with the exact item is VERY unproffessional!!

That's exactly how Borderlands 2 is when played in anything less than a full party of 4 and even then the items that drop for your level are utter crap at least 2/3rds the time from either chests or trash mob kills. The Seraph weapons especially are like the big suck especially since you work your butt off for the crystals and the weapons themselves are regarded as entirely not worth the effort.
