When you start losing weapons you'll change your tune. I excused the terrible console port believing it would get better because the fanboys were saying "wait until the show launches content is coming". I waited and the "content" was bags you make fly in the air. Then weapons started disappearing again and I quit. I tried my hardest to excuse all of the terrible but I couldn't do it any longer.

If Trion ever fixes weapons randomly disappearing I'll log in and finish the main quest.

I check the forums nearly daily for an update on a solution for disappearing weapons.

Guess I kinda remember when I could "quit" playing a video game and this was somehow a big deal. Ah sigh, those were the good days. What you gonna do play other games? o.0 Not like you agreed to some kind of monogamous video game relationship....

Or possibly caught the second worst STD commonly refered to as "Wifey", thankfully this can be cured but if it advances to "Childrens" disease then you are as good as dead.

MMO people like everything is a BIG DEAL. Seriously get over it LOL.

Sometimes the games are good enough that we enjoy them anyway (Kotor, Fallout3). Sometimes they are not (WarZ).
This seems to be everyone's excuse they give, but I can't remember another mmo launch since Vanguard that I have played with this significant amount of big bugs and other issues. And at the rate they are going with fixes, it's going to be months before things are ironed out.

2- She's on drugs and may die in her bed before, during or after sex also the STD thing still applies.

    It's not even that.
It's more like if you would be OUTSIDE a very nice club, on the street and you see all the flashy and amazing ads on the front saying:
"Crazy sexy dancing with the most skilled models inside! You won't regret it!"

And once you've already paid the cover charge, and sit on your chair to admire the beautiful ladies...
You realize that it was in fact a gay bar.

No time to ride the line!

Rift has been great, but so far defiance has been a disappointment.

The character creation for defiance compared with any decent MMO to include Rift is like going back to the dark ages of gaming. The controls remind me more of the old shooter games for computer not an MMO. I am guessing the controls are this way because it was basically designed with X-box/PS3 in mind.

I am going back to regular MMOs I might try it again in the future to see the improvements. Maybe once they make the game more computer like MMO playable I'll restart. I mean really not being able to click anything in game on a computer to interact or pickup stuff is ridiculous. The old dos based TSR games and the original castle wolfenstien did better than that.

If you take as long as sitting in your chair, sipping a drink you probably belong there and just haven't realized it yet.

That being said, your comparison doesn't fails.
For a gay person the gay bar is perfectly fine.
This social infrastructure, UI and some really hellish bugs however cannot be viewed as perfectly fine no matter your tastes and dispositions.

As for content ... Defiance has no issues here. So early in any MMO overall content should never be judged, review the structures that enable the possibility of conent and then evaluate the likeliness of the developer being able to deliver further expansion of the gaming world. And despite the horrific acts of misdesign I mentioned above I'm still confident in Trion.

It must be obvious that two weeks into the TV series a game that's supposedly tied into that cannot have all content available right at the start without spoiling the combined experience.
Just as much as 'leaving out content for later' is a common practice in MMO development.

    I'm sorry. WHAT?
Are you kidding me, controls of a shooter game remind you of a shooter? We should sue Trion for this unspeakable heresy!

Those antiquated controls have never changed from the very start of the genre by the way, simply because of the efficiency and unbeatable standard of WASD + mouse look ... not to speak of the fact that there really is no other option unless you plug in a controller - which by the way you could do for Defiance, not that I'd recommend it.

Indeed my friend, Defiance has been in development since at least August 2008, indeed.
But i think that a lot of folks here forgot or didn't know about that fact...Sadly.

No time to ride the line!

I don't plan on to anytime soon. Been playing since launch day and I'm even close to getting bored with the game yet. While i do have the main story, side quests and activities all done. I can still manage to find stuff to do. I like to role play a little bit with my character and NO you pervs not that way :P. I like to make my experience in MMO unique while i wait for more content.
