Power bore and mag is dealers choice in my opinion but most would pick a high cap probably.

if you activate the 4th part of synergy, make sure you have the perk "intimidation" that gives you +75% dmg to targets that are "flinching, knocked back, or knocked down from other attacks"

Defiance is gone. Gamigo has been "not neglecting" the game for over a year, yet there's nothing new except for low effort arkfalls and bitshop items.
I know it might be hard to quit a game you loved for years but you have to understand that it won't get better. Ever. If you like the game in it's current state, then sure, keep playing it. You're enjoying yourself after all. But if you aren't, don't hope for a better future for Defiance. Because it won't come.

Works for humanoids in PVE environment. Not as much in higher level tier Expos and not at all in PVP. (At least when I had an Empousa before I broke it down for mods about 5 months ago).

As you all know, I have been an Empousa fanboy. So, power bore for sure. Regarding the mag, I've had three Empousas but I got them a while back. As I recall I actually let the mastery decide what mag I used. If reload mastery, then I'd get hcm, otherwise I'd put fast reload mag on it. However, if I got an Empousa these days, I'd put a nano converter HCM on it depending on which flavor BR I needed to round out my collection.
Edit: Having dusted off my Empousas and taking a look at them, I notice that I have reload mastery on all of them currently (but if I had the inclination to do it over again I'd probably reroll for damage or FR). I also notice that they still basically hold their own even compared to some of the premium named BRs out there these days. So I'd still say they are still the best weapon you can get without having to depend on RNG, loyalty, bit store or expensive trade.
