NO Weapon EXP during Arkfalls?

Noticed during arkfalls my weapon level exp doesn't go up but the level of the weapon its self does, just wondering if anyone else is getting this aswell as it's quite depressing that i only just noticed, been through about 20 LMG and its still only level 4 and im at 990 EGO

I read somewhere (I will need to find it) if you weapon is maxed in XP you do not continue gaining levels for that weapon type. Which to me is a really broken system.

That's weird I've been leveling up my weapons during Arkfalls but I haven't been using a Light Machineg gun, perhaps theres a bug with the weapon type?

Its completly true, for some reason arkfall mobs give basicly 0 normal xp or weapon xp.

Which is very strange considering arkfalls are sort of the endgame, and you'd want people to use it for stuff such as leveling up.

However I don't see how you managed to max 20 lmgs in arkfalls rodi, as the weapon xp also does not go up a noticeable amount.

I farmed the 2500 for pursuit, and my saw was still pretty much at 0


Leveling a BMG does work however, even if its mindblowingly slow.

what he said you get weapon XP only if your weapon isnt maxed out

your right Jumper i had to just hour ago get a new shotgun and bug gun just so that i would get exp for that weapon.

Think both me and the poster are well aware of this fact, however atleast with the lmg you don't earn weapon exp during arkfalls, atleast not a noticeable amount.

While on the otherhand ill pretty much cap a saw every time i run a co-op mission.

I don't think arkfalls give either weapon or normal xp for kills - everything you get it given at the end once the arkfall is completed.

The devs could step in and give their reasoning, but I think it's because the objective of arkfalls is to destroy the crystal, not (for the most part) kill the mobs that spawn around it. If you got XP normally then those that killed all the hellbugs would get most of the XP while those that shot the crystal would get very little - yet that is the main objective. I think that is why the arkfall leaderboard is ranked on damage inflicted above all else, and why those in the higher places earn additional loot and XP.
