After a certain amount of items is the correct one.
I had sold a pistol attachment a few days ago and it just disappeared now as soon as
I sold two guns to the general supplies merchant.
And if he never sells anything?

Be happy you weren't here when they introduced the Favorites system to the inventory.
Because they introduced the 'Mass Breakdown' button at the same time.
And when they introduced the change, they didn't favorite everything by default the first time you opened the inventory.
They needed to post this warning, but neglected to:
