Well more than likely lol. They can't call the game Defiance and NOT let us go there ever. Seems kinda pointless if we can't. But then would the city basically be like the Iron Demon Ranch, 3 vendors, and some buildings you can't enter. I would like to see some kind of central hub free of enemies. An enemy can sometimes be dragged to populated areas (I've been shopping at a vendor, and my controller starts shaking) if another hunter is running from them.
I would like to see a place where we have some kind of bulletin board to sell items to other players, or initiate trades, or even as a meeting place, but that's just me

Well yeah, the game needs to be more social. Right now Arkfalls are the only actual social interaction you will get besides random people appearing while you do a mission or inside instances.
Why can't they??? Defiance makes reference to the Battle of Defiance that took place in San Francisco. The town in the show (formerly St Louis) took its name from it.
A city may appear after the show launches, the map is fairly large and there are a few areas unaccessible at the moment, so give it time.

I think as the show progresses then the game will unleash dlc to us. I agree a hub would be nice. The most social action i see in this game is after a large arkfall. It would be sick to see the game travel across the U.S. to defiance. Just sayin
