Defiance, the not so social mmo.

Ok, well i have been playing now for the last couple of days and not once has anybody wrote something into chat. The whole game seems to be solo driven from what i have seen so far, apart from the Arkfalls that is.
Am i maybe missing something here, like a trade chat or something where all the talking happens or am i destined to travel alone in this dusty world?
God knows how many times i have wrote into chat about looking for a clan to join but alas i end up talking to myself
Any insight into this would be greatly appreiciated,

We are out there! PhraseUniverse99 and I meet up on these forums and had a great time. I would suggest, at least until Trion patches the game and maybe gives us Global Chat, Look on these forums for usernames and be forward by sending them a msg or friend request! We did and hmmm, it works.

Yea i agree with this, world chat would make it all the better, I dont know how they thought area chat would be a good idea in the first place to be honest. I mean you walk ten steps and your in a different chat area. Loving the game but something needs to be done on the social side of things.

enable world chat outside arkfalls only now that is a good idea.

The broken VOIP and painful on-screen keyboard is a big part of why it's so quiet. Otherwise you might possibly see more communication, but even then I wouldn't expect much.

I believe it will get better with time. I think peeps aren't using the virtual keyboard and hate typing one letter at a time. I believe once the show starts and we see more content and hopefully a market for trade the chatting will increase.

Well if the ramp up the difficulty in certain spots it would force players to band together perhaps but that would undermine what they have in place already. Something akin to FFXI where you had to band together to progress ( at least at a "steady" pace ) made it really social. This one it leaves it up to you which I think is fine. Just that many don't want/need the help. As for me I enjoy it with others.
