    Powers...whats the best?

I know, I know everybody's gonna say "pick what you like best" but I'm someone who likes to get everyone's opinions about things before I start my characters. I know I can respec my original choice for a small scrip cost as well.

Basically I'm asking whats the best power for each of the gun-types? Like does snipers work well with one or the other, or LMGs?

I can't really give you any opinions in relevance to the different weapons and power combinations, since I often forget I even have the powers to use. It does seem that the powers work well with pretty much any weapon type, though what you use is more up to your own playstyle.

I only really have experience with three of the power types, but generally all of them have some use or value with all weapons.

Cloak or Decoy for example, can both be used to distract your enemies long enough to pull up your inventory screen and tap to another loadout when out of ammo or give you a chance to breathe and get behind cover or regenerate your shield. Both are exceptional for snipers and long range weaponry, same with explosives and RPGs. Generally, since they're more defensive than offensive, they're better used for quick escapes.

Decoy does have more practical applications than Cloak though, and can support a more offensive close-range playstyle as well. Since every enemy is pretty much guaranteed to chase after your decoy, it basically lets you rip them to pieces while distracted, and also serves as a nice short-range teleportation ability as well with the double tap.

It's my personal favourite EGO power so far, as being able to confuse my enemies to regenerate shields, then reposition behind them a moment later has really helped me out. Decoy works with pretty much any playstyle and weapon setup, though if you're more of the raw power run and gun type, it might not be for you.

Overcharge from what I've seen would probably work well with any weapon, though unlike the last two powers won't really give you any chance to recover from injuries or escape from a hail of bullets. Still if you're more into offense and are more concerned with ripping enemies to pieces before they can damage you, it's probably a safe bet. Shotguns, sniper rifles, assault rifles, handguns, anything is fair game with it by my estimate. It's literally just a large damage boost so should work with anything.

I'm afraid I don't have much experience with Blur, but it probably works well with any weapon setup since the power amplifies speed and melee damage. Good for dodging bullets but not as quick as decoy's teleportation, it seems to be a mix of the concepts behind the various power options. Cloak is pretty much purely defensive, decoy is primarily defensive but allows an offensive barrage, overcharge is purely offensive and blur is primarily offensive but allows for faster evasion.

That... doesn't really answer your question at all, sorry. XD

the powers are a bit underwhelming to be honest. the ego combinations i guess will get interesting once I open up more equipt boxes but even playing with the Ego skills calculator its 'bleh'

Im using Cloak. Had Overcharge, but without a decent shield, it will get you killed. I upgraded my cloak, so the cooldown time is less, and i can cloak 9 (or 6?) seconds longer than standard cloak. I cloak to run away( it instantly recharges your shield upon entering cloak) or to set up perfect critical hits, sniper, pistol AR doesnt matter. The only problem is that when you interact, be it reviving, an ammo box or objective, it completely cancels your cloak and starts the cooldown. Not sure if thats intentional or not.
