Lock Boxes Tier 2/3/4

Tier 2 - 8 keys - 2 weapons

Tier 3 - 24 keys - 3 weapons

Tier 4 - 64 keys - 4 weapons

Wouldn't this mean that you would just want to buy tier 2 every time? Why would I buy tier 3 or 4?

I got 3 oranges from tier 4 boxes, 2 of the same rocket launchers and a shotgun. I'm looking to trade one of the rocket launchers (might be willing to let shotgun go) for a orange sniper or assault rifle.

So there is no real data to support that any of the tiers get you better weapons than the others as we would need a collection of 100k+ turn ins to get something definitive. Okay going to stick with the Tier 2 since that will get me more weapons per keys.

Actually the data has started pouring in. Check out this thread that keeps track of submitted boxes. Right now tier 3 is the best bang for your buck.

I've bought multiples of all three tiers and have had better luck with blues/purp's/oranges with the tier 4's by far.
Now this could just be since there's four items looking at the RNG for rarity at the same time over three or two that this occurs, or possibly there is an increasingly higher modifier for each tier.

But since LMS and bolt action sniper rifles are my only two weapon types that are remotely close to skill cap I'm not looking for a "final weapon" from lock boxes at the moment. So I just buy the tier 4 box when I hit the key cap or close to it.

Although a sad point is that every orange that I have gotten so far has be worse than the green/blue/purp that I was using at the time that I got it. =/

Not to derail but has anyone gotten an electrial proc weapon since the last server down?

Tier 3 lock boxes have netted me 4 pieces of orange gear and 9 pieces of purple. That is out of 10 tier 3 lock boxes.

Well I wont be buying T4 any more, the one time I tried the game swallowed all 64 keys and gave me nothing. Nout nothing, nada. No Weapons at all. Nothing in the claim item section. plenty of Inventory space.
Raised a Ticket in game. No reply.

I have have gotten 2 Tier 4 boxes, One yeilded about 8 weapons, 5 greens and 3 blues, the second had 4 weapons, 1 purple SMG and 1 blue and 2 greens.

In terms of rewards, I was hoping that Arkfalls would yield better rewards, I am tired of gernades and Shields, I see little or no equipment drops Side quests or roadside stuff you find.
