Racing is not too hard. Try a controller - makes a world of difference. Also, some folks will be good at it and some folks will not, same as anything else in life. Persistance pays off...

I can see where alot say racing is too easy getting gold on the 1st attempt or completing the challenge for the black dodge in just a few hours.
On the other hand I have a hell of a time controlling the damn quad. I spent an hour solid race after race this past dodge challenger event. got 1 silver and the rest were all bronze. Tonight I was trying to get a silver in "mine alley" for the pursuit. I keep comming in 15 to 20 seconds late every time. After that dissapointment I logged out to see if anyone else was having trouble with the races. In many ways doesn't sound like it. Guess I'm part of the "lucky" 5% at one end of the bell curve.
Only bought one racing game in my whole life. Hated that game. Even more reason why I loved "Carmageddon" why bother racing when you can just smash into **** and feel good about it. lol
The Old Timer's Guild
I have it it was cake. Almost set a record on 5 races
I 100% agree with this. At first, I thought the racing was just flat out impossible for me to achieve a single gold medal, let alone ALL of the golds for the achievements and the Black Challenger.
I started using a controller, and put the keyboard aside for just questing and standard travel. Making that simple adjustment - changing input devices - changed everything. But so did a lot of practice...a LOT of practice!!!
1. Learn the tracks - period. Study and memorize the pattern. As you do...you will learn where you can make adjustments and save precious seconds.
2. Don't race through arkfalls or emergencies - help remove them and then retry the challenge.
3. Don't give up.
4. Period.
I'm not a great gamer, I know that there are lots of players out there who could gold medal these challenges with their eyes closed. Good on them. My advice is for those of you who are like me - pretty average players, who need a little encouragement to help them achieve a really cool goal and cool in-game item.
"We are Rangers. We walk through the dark places no others will enter. We stand on the bridge, and no one may pass. We live for the one, We die for the one. Entil'zha Veni, In Valen's name."
A controller wont help you much since your problem is your computer.
I have seen this on some of my friends machines that are a bit dated.
This game is a RAM hog and unless you have a good dose of it, you will be having horrible response times while driving since it is trying to load all the random events in the world and players you pass by, if you have an Arkfall near.... ROFL GG.![]()
I agree with most of what I have seen here, I know I need to stick with it, maybe get a controller and I'll get the awards done and the pursuits finnished. However..... DUDE, "having a hell of a time" is not getting consistant Bronze trophies. Hitting every parked car, tree, wall on the course and then sailing off into the water and getting the Fail message. THAT is having a "hell of a time"
Just saying.
If there is a way to use the mouse to steer like in Borderlands, I know I would have a lot easier time of things.
Racing is too hard?
Erm.
Um.
Well...
I think it's just you.
Yep, just you.
Keyboard here. I guess my Trackmania experience must have helped.
I had a really hard time with all time trials and other trials to start with. Then i bought a new graphics card ( even though i had very little actual lag) and completed all at gold this evening. Most were gold first try. Lag is your enemy in time trials ( i use mouse and keyboard)
