Gamestop Exclusive?

Anyone know if the Gamestop exclusive weapon (sporeshot) will truly be exclusive. Will it be something that everyone will be able to unlock later in the game or what?

I don't know the answer to that off the top of my head. That would be a call that Trion would make, so I don't think my manager at Gamestop would now.

A: The exclusive weapons are exclusive versions of weapons you can find in game. They are more appropriate to starting characters, but the real benefit is having access to these types of weapons ahead of where you might naturally encounter or find them. These weapons give starting characters a much better shot at surviving the dangerous world of Defiance.

Nice quote... so its a start boost, but no more really. Kinda glad to hear that really as I wasn't really interested in preordering. Only worry is that I don't get into the PS3 beta, but oh well I will get to play eventually when the game comes out if I dont. lol.

It will probably be like most games these days that have retailer/region exclusive items...after six months or more it will become availiable for everyone to unlock/buy.
Exclusivity is usually only for a set period. For instance, the dog tags on Battlefield 3 that only customers in the USA could get,eventually became availiable in Europe.

Like I remember in Star Trek Online one of the exclusives was a better starship, it helped you at the beginning but then after a few levels you upgraded to a more powerful starship anyway

well i got the UE. I want pistol and bio-healer skills.. not anything else.. so i guess i'll have to suffer.. I know i'll need all kinds of healers and all kinds of pistols depending on my enemies.. so picking a class is a must.. it will take a lot of inventory space to keep a lot of different types of pistols and healers.. shields .. grenades and so much more.

It's an exclussive infector-type weap for (as others have said) relatively early level. Do you guys realize how much extra stuff is waiting for those of us who pre-ordered UE if we also get all of the arkfall codes too? We're going to be tearing through the beginning missions.

Pretty sure thats the point of it all. I'm not sure if I am going to pre-ordering though... maybe I will. If I get into beta I might not be able to resist, if I don't... well its 50/50 at this point. *shrugs*

Well, if we get all of the codes, that's two weaps (we think) and a vehicle (we think). There's a weap for pre-order and a weap for CE. Either way, keep track of the codes at least, and you should be in a comfy position when you get the game. Also, pre-ordering automatically gets you in on the next beta for your platform... sucks that the console-players are having to wait so long though.

Come to think of it, when they finally announce the console betas, I wonder how many people will finally pre-order to get in on it.
