ok.. let's chew this apple one bite at a time:

PC gaming is "on the way out".. hmm.. odd then why there's an average of 12 to 15 COMPLETELY NEW games released specifically and only on PC's every year for oh.. the last decade or so. Yeah.. oh yeah.. that's a sign of being completely obsolete..

Too many cheaters on PC? Man.. what games are YOU Playing on consoles? There are TONS of cheaters in EVERY platform. Anyone remember finding the invisi-creases in Halo to frag from a completely hidden and protected position? Oh wait.. that was only on consoles right?...

And I can't speak for the "steam" service.. I've never used it. I always get my games directly from the publisher/manufacturer of the item. TO me.. what amounts to "renting" a game is about the same as renting a girlfriend... sure it's all fun and games for awhile.. but eventually, all you have is memories to hold. And just an FYI.. I paid the same amount for this game.. the FULL GAME, not some steam rental or whatnot.. as you did for you Xbox version. And as for my internet going out, limiting my play time.. hmm.. yes.. I can see you are the be-all-end-all in PC knowledge base aren't you? (psst.. I'm running games on my LAPTOP that haven't had a server from the manufacturer in over 10 years for communities of players...)

Unfortunately, the current generation of consoles are dated insofar as the meat and potatoes under the hoods are concerned. I'm pretty sure the next gen systems will start rolling out around Christmas this year. If PS4's controller has more weight to it and the sticks aren't so floaty and weird, I'll be playing PS4 more than my gaming rig... for multiplayer stuff anyway.

    Bingo! 1 Star for Clarkeh!

And yeah.. it's not just draw distance either. And I haven't noticed a single console player complain about the UI either oddly..hmmm

Posts like this are why I stay away from 'general' gaming sites/forums. The platform fights/chest beating is just something I can't stand.

And aside from devs having to chase a larger market to stay afloat (look how many have been shuttered this gen), it's wise to push the game on as many platforms as they can given the way they angled this with the show. "Watch the Show, Play the Game". Them hitting PS3, 360 and PC allows them to hit more of their viewers (this is a special case with this game as for the most part, I'm not too fond of damn near everything being multiplatform now).

As for Steam, don't they have constant sales (not a PC gamer)? I doubt people are paying an 'arm and a leg' if they stick to picking up stuff during Steam Sales.

Want all the fancy graphics options?

Well, stop playing the game on a kids toy and join the real gamers.
If you disagree with anything in the above post, you are wrong.

To OP: Have you ever pondered if the console you're using is already performing at full capacity and you can't really increase performance indefinitely on it?

Well any attempts by console players to deride PC players is actually very counterproductive. You're proving that you're no better than the PC players you don't like. Personally I have no preference, therefore I remain objective. Only reason why I play Defiance on PC is because next-gen consoles are coming out and I don't know what is gonna happen when that comes.

Isn't draw distance on the dev if it's in the same scope as consoles? Same with UI? Seems some do take the time to 'expand' on stuff or tailor to the PC crowd if they get the chance (a "PC" UI, better draw distance, textures, resolution, etc.). Them leaving all that the same as the console versions (consoles from 2005/2006) is less on the consoles themselves and more on the dev due to that being their call.

Now see.. I had a LOT of hope for some of the current consoles.. especially PS3. I think for me however, the big crux that kept me from spending that chunk of change for the top of the line version: no backwards compatibility. So In other words, I'd have to have my ps, ps2, AND ps3 consoles to play all my games from the start to current. Makes absolutely NO SENSE to me why they couldn't add it other than wanting more money from the player base (which current consoles junkies gladly hand over with the glorious look of total pre-teen delight on their faces - yes.. I've worked retail.. and yes.. I've seen it first hand).

Now.. even with PS4 coming out sometime in the next year.. sure the bits and bobs under the hood are going to be far and away better than the PS2 or PS3.. but still, it's already been announced that there's not going to be any backwards compat.. so for me, that's the killer right there. I'm an adult, I don't need a living room filled with toys when my friends come visiting for an evening of wine and laughter.

I don't think that word means what you think it means. Since when did requesting a feature to offset a complaint = trolling?
