I agree. It's just easier to avoid on Xbox as I have a solid list of people to play with that I've spent years weeding through. We as a global society are WAY too spiritually and mentally immature to handle the responsibility that the anonymity of the internet affords us. It seems to get worse and not better but that may be my pessimistic nature shining through. For every action an equal and opposite reaction and all. I think it's just as applicable to philosophy, psychology, and sociology as it is to physics.

Anyway, on the "PC gaming is on the way out" tip:

He may have worded it in an overzealous kind of way but if you've been paying attention, gaming has gotten a lot more console-centric here in the last few years. I think the rationale behind the shift is easy to see.

First there's the accessibility which transfers directly to sales. Then there's the fact that every console is designed with the same parts. (For the most part... bah dun tsh) When a game is released on PC you can't optimize it for everyone's rig because we all build our PCs differently. If you don't build it, there's still no baseline because there isn't a standard that everyone follows. This illustrates that it's therefore much easier on developers to focus on the version that is easiest to optimize... the console version.

Eventually, console processors and graphics quality are going to catch up to consumer PCs and it'll make more sense to focus more time and effort on the console versions. It's going to happen. It's happening now. It's not drastic or rapid, but if you take a look back at the last 10 years of gaming it's been slowly creeping up.

Let me guess, ban/suspension worthy? It happens with me and general gaming sites which is why I avoid them. I know better but I still fall into it from time to time lol.

EDIT: Maybe I need to sleep more.

"Lighted Hat & Pick" = Gold "Mine"

I read the original post, then laughed as I enabled SweetFX and started to log back in.

So In other words, I'd have to have my ps, ps2, AND ps3 consoles to play all my games from the start to current. Makes absolutely NO SENSE to me why they couldn't add it other than wanting more money from the player base (which current consoles junkies gladly hand over with the glorious look of total pre-teen delight on their faces - yes.. I've worked retail.. and yes.. I've seen it first hand).

Now.. even with PS4 coming out sometime in the next year.. sure the bits and bobs under the hood are going to be far and away better than the PS2 or PS3.. but still, it's already been announced that there's not going to be any backwards compat.. so for me, that's the killer right there. I'm an adult, I don't need a living room filled with toys when my friends come visiting for an evening of wine and laughter.
Yes, the backwards compatibility thing sure sucks. Would have been worse if they made it impossible to play preowned games tho. Well my situation is different. I've traded in all my games on PS3 since I don't play it much anymore due to commitments. So since I don't plan to play any old PS3 games anymore, PS4 might be a good investment.

Atm i use sweetfx to and its ammazing .
What bothers me te msot in this is that again its the community that provides the solution not the company.
Just like what durante did for the dark souls community on pc.

And pls feel free to tell me when pc will get advanced settings cause you as console user are waiting well so are we as pc users.

Btw i hate pc elitisme, i think every platform has its benefits and certain titels that make them worth.
Overall yes i am a pc player (over 15 years now) but i also have all current(and past) consoles.

In the end gaming for me is simple .....gameplay over graphics. Games like dont starve are amazing and it looks handdrawn,no polycounts to the max there.Yet it provides a solid gameplay.
Same for so many nice titles out there.

Pls look further then graphics i understand the eye wants something but gameplay is more important.
