Time Trial: Tiburon Uplands xbox bugged?

I'm trying to do the Time Trial: Tiburon Uplands on xbox in order to complete the "March Through Marin" pursuit.

This time trial is hard enough by itself but right now I just can't seem to get the first/second gate to register me driving through it.

Sometimes the first gate seems to be missing which makes it impossible to 'check' the second gate. Oddly enough even when the first gate is there and gets checked as you drive through the second gate it almost never checks.

I've tried to drive through it in the center, the left, the right, at different angels.. nothing seems to work but try and try and try again and again and again untill you get lucky and it checks.
So far I've been able to do 2 runs whith being 1 second short of the silver medal I need on my second run. Up to that point I've already had to restart the race many times to get the first two gates to check.

Since my second run I've been unable to get through the second gate succesfully again in about 40 attempts :/ Start race, drive through gate, doesn't register, get off bike, fail, restart, repeat, repeat, repeat.

Given me a right headache and even though I really want to complete the March Through Marin I just can't bare any more of this atm. I'll leave it until it's fixed or someone can tell me how to avoid this problem.

I experienced the same issue and had to restart/abandon the race and start over but I was eventually able to finish the race
