I've just bought this game on steam, downloaded it and now I'm downloading an update with 0.30MB/sec. Is this a joke? I can't find any solution to this problem on the internet. What can I do then? Wait? I've never seen such a slow download of an update.

Actually, Steam just directs you to the launcher, which he installed, the launcher directs you to Trion.
a lot of steam users have reported this problem. Seems the issue is on Steam's end and not Trion's, as anyone who got directly from trion has no glaring download speed issues.....at least no one that I know, 80+ people in my gaming clan, has said anything about slow downloads from trion direct.....but the ones who use steam...thats a different story.
You can get it directly from Trion even if you bought it from Steam. Just punch in your codes.
There's a thread somewhere explaining how to move your Install Dir from your Trion install to your Steam Dir.
I was under the impression Steam had their own launcher, as they always do. Guess I was mistaken.
In my experience with Steam and all the mmo's I have through them, they supply you with the launcher and the launcher connects to the main patch server or whatever it's called from the owning company.
Im using no steam key, downloading direcly from trion from defiance launcher with light speed of 0.16MB/s ..
