Best way to get an orange weapon?

Well yeah that's why the prices are more expensive.. for the higher (color) weapon chance.

Math dosent add up cuz your buying a higher chance.

There was a huge thread with people talking about the merits of buying T3 chests over T4 chests and a Mod/Dev replied that the T3 chests have a less than 1% chance to drop an Orange. Never said how much a T4 does but I've bought around 10 so far and have gotten 2 oranges out of them. I've never seen an Orange drop or be awarded from anything other than T4 chest. Not saying it's impossible, only that it seems pretty damn unlikely.

This is one of those places where you want QUANTITY over QUALITY. Getting twice as many items per keycode for T3 over T4 means you have a higher item pool to pull from. Anything involving RNG you want a higher sample rate unless the % chance is absurdly higher, which it probably isn't.

Keep in mind, even people at 1000 ego are still only 1/5th of the way through. Just like "typical" MMOs you shouldn't really be concerned about getting ultra-rare drops until much closer to the endgame, as you'll just max out it's xp and stop using it after an hour or two anyway.

So, in short, dont' look for an uber-weapon now, even if you get it, it will suck.

This is actually false. At around 1000+ you can easily find any weapon that'll be on par later especially cause later is an absurdly long time away with the limited ways to gain XP and 2600 Ego revolving solely on XP.

Depends on the percentages. If you take 1000 Key Frags and you buy 123 L3 boxes and 15 L4 boxes you'll get 123 items and 60 items respectively. Percentage wise, if the loot drop is lets say 1% for L3 (it's less) that means you'll get 1 out of those items as an Orange. If it's all the way up to 4% or 5% on a L4 boxes that means you should get around 3. Considering I've bought around 10 L4 boxes and gained 2 Oranges either I'm pretty lucky or the percentages are holding up to be in favor if you want Oranges to go after L4 boxes.

The drop rate per cost to try is higher for T3.

found my first one in a T4 box, Orange Sniper Rifle. Only box i bought so far

I found that if you complete some of the hellbug wave missions over and over the last enemy in each completion of the mission drops a better and better weapon or mod.

Yeah I really wouldn't bother with the orange weapons this early in the game, be more concerned with leveling the weapon type so you can kickass with no matter what color you pickup.

Buy Tier 3 Lockboxes. A lot of them. You can get a couple of them per hour, easily.
