Is the playable world too small?

Is it me or is the playable world way too small? By game standards the world is above average for single player games. There are some bigger and a lot that are smaller. By MMO standards the world is extremely small in my opinion.

I think that a lot of the "too small" camp are not taking into consideration that the game takes place in a "real" area and a specific one at that. While there are more areas that fall into the "San Francisco Bay Area", I'd venture to guess that some of the more iconic areas may be left out for licensing reasons or just later release. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Also I'd suggest that you try to cover all the terrain on foot instead of in one of the faster vehicles. That **** gets tedious after a while and gives a real sense of scale more so than just looking at the map zoomed out.

I've been doing all the side missions, main quests, episode missions, time trials, and shoot-em-ups... Mash all that together, with the Competitive maps, Ark falls, shadow wards, and co-op maps... It doesn't seem so small...

yea but the game is not meant to be done on foot, and most of the map is empty

For what is is, they've crammed a butt load of stuff in there(no matter how tedious it may be). But it does seem rather small, but that's probably just because we can fast travel and our vehicles are so fast.

and after awhile you will get incredibly bored because all the things to do are just recycled version of eachother and theres really not that many varities anyway

i wouldn't call it small but i do think it could be a bit bigger. but its fine for now, i expect in some future DLC we may see more areas.

You're also forgetting that once the DLC is released i'm sure they will expand the areas a whole lot. Usually when MMO's come out with expansions for their games new areas are added. I suspect that's what Trion will do with this. When out looking for Arkfall missions I have been way up on the top of mountains and seen there is a LOT of room to add more cities etc into this. So don't think this is it. There will be more added I guarantee it.

I think people really overestimate the amount of content that this game provides. The largest reason this game takes so long to complete is because many of the side missions force you to travel the same roads and visit the same locations multiple times over. If this were any other game, where you could pick up all side missions to do them simultaneously before returning to receive your reward, people would see a drastic difference in the quality of the game.

The game's worth the $60 dollar purchase price, but it's nothing short of generic and unimaginative.
