    Shields

Just out of curiosity, what kind of shield is everyone rocking? I'm a huge fan of the Respark series: low shield rating but quick recharge and even faster delay makes fighting a joke.

Anyone able to make good use out of the tankier shields with a hell of a lot longer recharge time?

I was using a large capacity long recharge rate, was dying a lot, swapped to a Respark, and die a lot less.

yea respark here, it seems like the logical choice, i mean when do you honestly have 9.6 seconds to wait, and if you get hit when it just starts to recharge you have to wait another 9.6 seconds, if the shield capacity was much higher on the other shields they may be worth it, but the respark is nobrainer for me

I'm a fan of a nice Respark too. The quick charge means you only have to dip your head out of combat and into cover for a few seconds before you're ready to wade it again

I have been tempted with others though, like the one that recharges about 80% a second but takes 9 to get going. It might need to to take cover more, but it'll pop up to full in no time! From the high capacity shields I've seen, I've not really had one yet that was enough of an upgrade to balance out the slow recharge time. I'm sure they'll be of use to someone though, especially the good ones.

I think respark is the obvious choice. You could get a high amount shield with cloak I suppose. But as this game offers very little character specialization a lot of the current items simply come short. If you could spec towards high shield, sawed off shot guns, or those revolvers with 5 shots or any other currently sub par weapon to make them viable that would be great.

I'm currently using the tachyon shield in conjunction with the cloak ability (which automatically begins recharging your shield upon activation). With certain perks that allow an approximate 75% up-time on cloak, the recharge delay is negligible and the recharge rate becomes much more desirable.

I tend to go with the lower rating but the higher recharge. I think my current one is something along the lines of 1400 shield with a 2.85s recharge time with 40% per second. The quicker my shield comes back online the better it is for me. I experimented with a 6s recharge time with a 25% health recharge but I really work best with the 2.85 recharge. I guess it's all in how you play.

    Respark III, I love it.

Could see Ironclads or Rhinos being useful if you're a cloaker or runnin' a Siphon weapon.

There is no "overkill". There is only "open fire" and "I need to reload."

Can't remember what mine is called, but its only about 1000 shield, 40% regen rate, 3 second delay and 50% hp regneration

I think a lot of it depends on your Ego power.

Example: When I was running with cloak, really liked the higher capacity shields with slower start's, especially those with the 25% regeneration capacity. The bonus to this is you go into cloak and move a bit so they don't know where your at, and before you know it.. bam.. your back up to full shields and health.

The problem with a shield with a 6, or even 9, second activation time comes when your NOT using cloak. Decoy may work for this as well, but I haven't tried it yet to see what type of delay in combat you can get with the decoy drawing all the aggro.

With Decoy (and Overcharge as well), I've been using a Respark Regenerator III (Blue).. only has like 1100 points, BUT, it has a 25% health regen (which is constant while the shields up, even if it's not full), a 40% recharge per second, and a 2.85 second delay to start. With the bonus to hitpoints from the ego grid, and hopefully soon the bonus to regen stack, it should make me pretty much a fully up-time DPS machine. Especially when you add in the recharge bonuses for Decoy for those sticky spots where the mobs are massive, or when you get stuck with 2 or 3 other people in the area that affect the NPC's health stat.

But.. for any situation.. the Respark Regenerator II or III (preferably in blue with the lower delay and larger recharge per second) are great options IMO.
