FULLY AGREE. When I wrote my comment I was more in reference that last I heard there were serious issues in us trying to get into the same instances as friends. Of course that may have changed, it's been a couple of weeks. From what I read they had the same issue in one of the livestreams as well.

I was just curious, and even if it was your opinion I respect everyone's equally and again was just curious. I usually do more reading than posting, but I've done that before. Thinking your correcting someone's spelling because your half asleep (not the case here, just a story), only to wake up and find twenty people tell you your an idiot makes for the last time you correct someone...just sayin'.

Who wants to play an MMO alone. I mean it is nice sometimes, but the biggest thing for a clan is having a constant, reliable, and fun group of people to play with. Everything else is just more icing in the cake... And I do so love icing!

Personally, I find that not having ff on all the time is something almost all shooters either give you the option to have on, or do not include in the game at all. In my experience it is the most popular preference among most people that play shooters, aside from your more competitive crowd. I just don't see an up-side to being able to kill people in an open world environment at will. It would deter a lot of people from playing if they are just going to get killed randomly when they are trying to complete a task.
Just to clarify I am not a fan of the fragfest game experience.

For me PVP has to serve a purpose, a goal or some agenda. I'm not one to run out and kill players just because it's possible to do so.

    Possible reasons for PVP:
    Territory control
    Protecting clan mates
Defending a target possibly a town.

PvP in an Arena or BG is just not interesting to me and never will be. I will not play any kind of PvP that involves a Que. PvP should be a choice though and one game that I think did it well was Fallen Earth with conflict towns.

It probably won't happen, but I want clan bases :-( That was one of my biggest draws to SWG was being able to have guild cities and purchase faction bases. Maybe in a DLC... along with pets...

I guess I kind of agree with this, but also don't.

I like the idea of having open PvP, maybe not in all places and the place that they do have them should be voluntary that you need to go there. (I personally have no problem with full open PvP everyplace with different factions)

Sometimes mindless killing is fun, but I do agree there should also be things to fight over. Not sure why you wouldn't to some Que's as they could have things to fight for. IE: control points/resources/capture flag/defend a place/take a place and so on.

I understand how PK can be briefing, especially in a level game like WoW, but am from old OU, if someone or a group of people where hunting someplace, you grabbed some blues and went hunting them or you went someplace else till they left. Though, I am not naive to think I am the majority or should force people to play my way. I think there should be places for both.

I started playing online games with Everquest on the Vallon Zek race war PVP server. When that server started it had Item loot(1 item per kill) and an 8 lvl spread. Back in those days pvp was fun. If you died in pvp you lost exp. it was possible to lose lvls as well. That was the good old days when pvp was exciting. You had at least 3 other race teams to fight against so PvP had a reason it was a race war.

I would love to see areas of the game world marked for open pvp so that if you go there you are auto tagged pvp. If you don't want to pvp do not go into the pvp regions. This is the only way I can think to have open world pvp where the players have the choice. Maybe these open pvp areas have richer archfalls or clan bases to control. If you are in a pvp area and you get your butt kicked you can chose to stay and keep fighting or run away.

BTW all pvp in WOW is pointless and a waste of time. Vanilla wow had open world pvp before BGs and arena and it was fun. Once the BGs started open world pvp was ruined.

We've known for a long time that the game was co-operative PvE with some elements of PvP. Why ask the game to be something it is not? This is why Trion is so tight lipped about the game so those who play games for a certain aspect don't rip the game in some self-important blog in an attempt to ruin the games launch.

    Just my opinion though.

I always play mmo's alone, ever time I play in groups I find it distracting and\or sometimes really annoying.

Yay for someone bringing this post back to being about clans!

Even though I don't agree with you.

Maybe you just haven't found a good one... I know I have had my fair share of crummy guilds/clans and it can make the world of difference. A good guild is like having friends to hang out with everytime you play the game. However that said if you enjoy solo, then this game apparently has lots of solo content... so enjoy!
