Seiously i was like... no youngster child person i do not wish to partake in your clan...granted we hadn't started our clan yet...mainly because we..well were lazy about it haha and not all the bugs were worked out yet(in the game).
Not gonna say the SJA isn't recruiting but it's more of a Squad than a clan anyhow...who wants 100s of ppl you may not know to run around with.. i'll take 3-10 ppl any day of the week lol

When a game is as new as this one. You have to make some allowances for player intimidation. A number of players are new to this genre, and aren't accustomed to spur of the moment cooperation. As strange as it may seem many of them probably don't realize that you are trying to help them. Rather then pursuing your own goals. That said my experience is actually trending in the opposite direction as of the past couple of days.
I am finding more team oriented play. I haven't had a runner all day, and I am starting to link up with small groups on the fly, and not only aren't they running away, but they are starting to actively support me. Rome wasn't built in a day, and every community needs to find its own equilibrium. At the start a lot of players were simply focused on figuring out how to play. Now I am seeing a lot of players figuring out how to play with others.
Real coordination has started to show up in the game. Last night I was in a Arkfall event, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that players had started to specialize. A handful of players worked on the ranged enemies. Three were working the central crystal. The other handful was working on the mid sized enemies, and there were even two players that were working as dedicated medics. Nobody died, and that is pretty awesome considering raids that have those lobbing mounds. Usually have a lot of casualties.
I'd be more than willing to group up with people I run across but as a few people have mentioned it takes a long while to try and communicate. I've gotten a few invites after Arkfalls but other than that I think I got invited to a group once, and I already had a full group at that time.

I always thought this game would've drawn more of a PSU crowd. But that seems to not be the case

Yeah your best bet is to join a clan
I agree, but I believe the biggest problem with getting revived is the lack of a good downed player animation...it just doesn't stand out...maybe a perk or even just a patch that tells other players in your general area that you are down would help...maybe when someone is down within, say, 25 ft, EGO pipes up and says "There is a fellow Arkhunter in your area that needs medical attention..." something like that.
