Doing Contract's really worth it?

Not sure if mentioned but hell I might as well see if I'm not the only one noticing. Been driving around checking all the faction vendor's and seeing the level of Weapon choice's I have. They're ****!, been collecting top-notch toolworks and echelon credits/contracts for a couple days. My rank is 478, the best the vendors give me is 375 purple. Does this get better later on, or is it a bug, or am I just simply wasting my time with contracts now. Any help to shed some light on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with you the weapons from contract vendors are hit I'm sure the contracts are just there to keep peopke playing if they complete main and ide quest. I do them while waiting que for shadow war etc
