It gets worse when you're near the edge of the draw distance, their animations seize up and they just float across the screen.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Scope mod

Its the Scope mod that is bugged actually and trashing the accuracy not latency ( even though that would assist in it but it doesnt answer to mobs standing 100% still and still missing) test it yourself if you want too.

Ive tested all the scopes and using no mods i get 10/10 head shots ( even a hitbox bigger then the targets head as i can aim to the sides as they move and still hit sometimes) when using the modded rifles i get 3/10 headshots.

Targets could be standing 100% still and still miss and miss and miss without even moving the mouse till it hits finally.

When you test it yourself use a modded scope and youll actually see your shot go way off to the right or left ( not even close to the target) i suggest doing it with a shock one since it leaves a burn where the shot lands and its bright so u can see it completely and utterly miss targets quite easy. youll only see it for a brief second though.

I think this answers to you shooting at the same target over and over and over and still missing even when it hasnt moved because the shots are going no where near its head or even body for that matter. Not ALL scopes will do this mind you as ive only tested a few but from my experience +0.30 and +0.20 Accuracy mods trash the gun. when testing it make sure you only put a scope in it so u can just remove it and keep the gun ( removing mods will do so to ALL mods so just do scope first)

The best thing ever is when you are using an semi-auto sniper and have center bead on a head...fire...and it goes right through. I have had this issue so much, also had this with some bolt actions...though the green Frontier Sniper from merchants (I use Top-Notch) works amazingly well 95% of the time...I have maxed 4 of those though currently using the blue semi-auto from Caretaker Cabin for pursuit reasons (It is so far one of the best semi-auto I have come across).

I am so happy to finally see one of these posts..i thought it was all me being terribad 85% of the time instead of just 50%

i have defiantly observed a noticeable decrease in accuracy with scope mods added as opposed to just plinking away at 5 plus mods in a row without a miss with an unmodded scope on every rifle ive owned i now dread modding them as they become almost useless

So Please trion could someone look into this as its becoming very absolutely aggravating

I would have to say that you haven't been using a sniper rifle very long in this game.

Had this too... A bolt action with 1250 dam that i "replaced" to a 1000 one earlier because of this. Then the scope I salvaged did exactly the same thing to my "new" rifle.... I tested it without the mod (didn't have scope mod slot) then decided to wait 20 min to add 2 more slots, modded it, now it's trashed.

It's kind of disappointing to see devs that just post multiple times in random threads, and then not at all in big problem threads. This is making one of the weapon choices fairly random when using it.

I use my sniper about 75% of the time and havent really noticed any issues like this. Once in awhile a shot or 2 will miss, but the majority of the time its right where Im aiming with or without a scope mod equipped on it. Even while using a sem-auto sniper and firing off rapid shots Ive had no issues hitting what Im aiming for.

Have had some issues with dark matter mobs being a bit hinkey to hit in the head sometimes, if i take a throat shot then i get headshots on them, but then again that might be latency related.

the scope mod issue would make sense, as the only time I had this issue was on a fully modded sniper. I've since been just using the default weapons with no mods and had no accuracy issues.
