Decided to see what scopes looked like on a rifle type I'd never bothered with before. Now at ranges where the enemy's head is bigger then the reticule...I miss against stationary targets.

    Silly.

The problem with all the weapons are they aim at two different locations: The one in third-person view and the other in first-person (sniper) mode. They are nowhere near one another. This is my biggest gripe in the game. You can't hit anything with a sniper rifle in 3rd-Person because of this and you can't shoot from behind cover from 3rd-Person because you will actually be shooting far to the left, into the cover.

If the target is still when I shoot, I never miss. Sometimes I miss headshots, but thats when I aim for the top of the head. Sometimes the enemy is in cover with only part of his body or head showing, and I will miss.

Often times I will realize its because there was an obstruction on my end too. You can scope through obstructions sometimes. Not something in front of you, but something in the path. If the enemy is still, or in my sights, I never miss.

You never miss unmodded shots? Or you never miss modded shots? If I add a scope, I miss shots I would have previously made.

It's easy enough to imagine working this way. If accuracy is really broken and not a display bug. If -accuracy is beneficial and scopes actually add +acc then at longer ranges you can miss due to small changes in accuracy. Aiming an inch off at 10 ft will have a dramatically different result compared to aiming an inch off at 200 yards.

I have absolutely no problem with that because it makes sense. You aren't going to be aiming at the same spot firing from the hip as you would firing from the shoulder.

Of course you are: Aiming is aiming.

If you were to say the degree of accuracy is different, that would make sense. Say, when firing from the hip, an accuracy circle might be larger, this would make sense. The fact that your weapon is hitting three feet to the left of where you're aiming does not.

Look at the video. Your intended aim is actually moved when you use the scope.

Oh god, thank you for making this video. I've tried to explain to my friend my frustration with this but my words came out like "dood, the thing isn't aiming whar I'm aiming."

Also have you posted this in the technical issues forum?

Weird i was actually astounded by how good the registry was, and i am really sensitive to that after being spoiled by my own cs 1.6 server providing me with 4-9 ping lol. Didn't realize gow good i have been getting with sniper rifles until i started doing ridiculous flick shots pretty consistently, then headshot sole dude right off his atv with a flick shot, and had his riderless atv kill me LOL

Also i quick scope a lot so i don't have the same prob as the vid. Not necessarily the famed cs quickscope, or the overhyped cod quickscope, but i aim at them with crosshair, zoom, and flick to their heads. I basically scope near them so i have the smallest distance to move my scoped reticle.

Sometimes i just flat out quickscope but for skitterlings mainly as humans i want dat headshot!
