Also have you posted this in the technical issues forum?
I pointed this out during closed beta and made another video, obviously not public, but available only by those with the direct link, but I seemed to be the only one with this concern. Sure, you can get lucky and hit something in 3rd-Person, but it sure won't be in front of your gun's reticle. Yes, I would always try to sight through the scope, but realistically, there are times when you are surprised at close range and need to shoot "from the hip". Many games simply don't provide a crosshair on sniper weapons in 3rd-Person to simulate inaccuracy. I'd rather have nothing than this incredibly far off sight.

But this isn't the only problem. I am killed often using non-sniper weapons due to the way aiming works. My character is supposed to be right-handed. I can tell because he holds his guns in his right hand. So why do bullets appear to be coming from the far left of his body? This does not seem strange to people? You stand beside cover, well to the right where you aim at something and you shoot the cover instead. I have this video that illustrates this and it is with all weapons, not just sniper rifles:

There is definitely something wrong with some scopes that come with adding a mod. My sniper was perfect until I added a blue mod in the scope slot. Now when I go for head shots the bullets just don't go where I am aiming at all. I'll make a video of it tomorrow to show how stupid it is.

I can change to a basic white rifle with no mods and the bullets hit exactly were I am aiming.

The same problems exist without mods. I've never modded anything.

I'd noticed this as well and did not make the connection to the scope, this does impact other weapons as well, I had a nice AR that I trashed and have avoided that model because it seemed so innacurate and I had contributed it to the zoom feature, but didn't think it was specifically because of the modded scope, will have to revisit that AR now.

I tested this on several different bolt action rifles and a couple of different meteor bolters and shooting stationary targets it was clear that using a modded scop placed the shot well off the reticle.

I only use bolt-action repeaters without scope mods. Never had any problems with accuracy.

What I'm referring to isn't an accuracy thing and it happens with you as well, maybe you just haven't noticed. Do the tests as I have.

While you have a point with the bug you pointed out, there is a separate issue that exists with mods.

I've noticed it, but it just hasn't been relevant. It's not going to make you miss shots unless there's an object between your model and your target. It has nothing to do with accuracy and can be compensated for with positional awareness.

I have noticed that the sniper scope glitch is less of a problem for me on indoor co-op maps, like the bunkers. Still a problem, just not as bad.
    I can't tell if I'm a cynic or a realist.

I feel it's relevant if my weapon is not coming close to what I'm aiming at. Sure, anything can be compensated for: If my car steered the opposite direction when I turned the wheel, I could compensate for it, but it would be a bad design and more difficult to drive properly. I'm just saying, why can't we have a crosshair that points in the proper direction?

At close range and shooting from the hip, sniper rifles are way off. You will not hit anything unless you aim high and to the right of the target. This isn't an accuracy issue because then it would have a random deviation from center. This does not, the shot always lands to the left and it moves your gun automatically when you use the scope. Does this also seem normal? Where the aim is moved to when using the scope reveals where you are actually aiming in 3rd-Person view. That's what I'm saying.
