There's no falling damage, vehicles don't need fuel, we can carry tons of weapons at once and so on. That's all about convenience, not realism. Not having any clothes isn't convenient in any way. It's only lazy developers usually, though in this case it could be because they needed to get the game out in time for the series. I never played the beta, but if there were clothes there, I'm sure we'll get them in the game soon enough.![]()
I agree with what everyone here has said, and I'd really like some additional clothing options. Especially the ability to change top/bottom and colouring. One of the best things about previous MMOs I've played is the ability to customise your character's looks and make it a representation of YOU as a player.
Running around seeing 25 people who are near identical in one area is frustrating. And, while there are options at creation for facial structure, hair and tattoos etc the level of detail isn't that specific that you can tell people apart from the size of their nose or eye colour at a distance.
I'm trying to get my wife into defiance, and the one thing that puts her off is the inability to put her 'touch' on her character. She's been playing DCUO for years, and spends hours just collecting new sets of gear, and messing around with different combinations.
i'm not a big achivements or dungeons guy so i wish there was a better way for people like me to get some of the outfits.
i also wish they'd release soem better outfits in teh cash shop. actually i'd rather they have released what they had ready then worked on more rather than tease them out like they are doing... as well the pricing is a bit silly(though i expected a price rise from beta 3)... having to spend $15 or 20 to get a 880 bit outfit is more than a little disrespectful to buyers. idc if every free to play game that isn't made by valve does it, and gw2 does it... it's obnoxious as ****.
anyways i have a few nice outfits between pursuits missions and the cash shop.
I suspect having outfits look different not only per gender but per species (especially if they're adding in another species) is slowing down the development of outfits a lot.
There are a bunch you can get from missions and pursuits, though. So not everyone should really look the same. Still, more variety would be nice too (or being able to dye our clothes, that's a cheap way of giving customization).
You also have to remember that ALL those games you played did not release like that, and most of them didn't get them even in their first year of play (options for further customizing, after creation). As for the 'variety' .. there are items to be bought in the store, rewards from missions (Nolan's outfit, etc), and you can even get things from PVP. Now I'm not saying that some are reskins -but this allows you to choose a color you like right?. The game is a week or so old, I for one and damn glad they are focused on the play and not the 'Eww I look like everyone else!' because if you haven't noticed we all look the same in real life, and for those of you thinking 'I am unique' so are the 1,000s that look and act just like you being unique!
