Snipe from the shadows troubles. Help? lol

So I've been working on my Snipe from the Shadows 3 achievement, Have roughly half the number of bolt action kills I need and decided to switch over for a change and raise my semi auto sniper skill levels. I was sitting at just a touch over skill level 4 and over a few hours went through 2 semi auto weapons to max and started on my third when I thought "Hrm, I've not seen my semi-auto skill raise even though I've maxed two full weapons and started a third" Took a look and my skill level has not changed at all. Has anybody had this happen before?

This is a serious @Sad Face@ for me as I'm not a fan AT ALL of the semi sniper rifles but knew it had to be done lol. Think I'll just keep working my bolt action kill counts and come back to it later. Thanks All!

Keep in mind arkfalls and grouping gives reduced weapon xp. The more players the more it is reduced.

The xp is there during arkfalls because I got a pistol rank up during an arkfall, but the xp is so minor and reduced it barely registers.

Your best bet to quickly level a weapon skill is go find one of the hellbug hives to play in solo.

ohh I've been solo from start till now so far. All three semi sniper rifles leveled were 100% solo play and my lvl 4 semi auto sniper skill has not moved lol. It's depressing really as I am not the slightest bit excited about semi sniper rifles =/

Weapon Exp is based on damage, you do not have to kill a monster to earn weapon exp. Half of the arkfalls monsters do not give weapons exp which in turn does not advance your weapon proficiency.

From the looks of the above post I guess sniper proficiency is just bugged for everyone.

Have you been able to raise your skill at all since? I talked to a friend and he mentioned hearing modded weapons were bugging skill gain sometimes. I tried another that was completely vanilla and still no skill gain. @Sigh@ lol.

As far as kill count goes I would just spam that sniper hotshot mission. That has you using a bolt action, though you might be able to use the current glitch and switch to a semi-auto.

Well, moved on to my 4th new semi auto and immediately received a full skill raise in semi auto-sniper skill after only 3 kills =/ Then went on to finish that entire weapon and the skill has not moved. @Odd@
