    Soooooo, gold trophy races..

is it just me? or does it always seem to add 2 seconds to whatever time you made? I keep crossing the line at 51 seconds (bloodbath gorge in this case) and it bumps me up to 53-54 seconds, every time. How are these people possibly getting the 45 second mark thats currently on there?

    suggestions?

Perfectly do-able without maxxing them, but yeah for some of us it is harder, the game sometimes seem to add a second or so due to lag, however even with that its perfectly do-able, I belive I was runner level 5 by the time I finished all of them at gold.

I've always gotten gold with a lot of time to spare, just use your boost properly... it recharges when you drive through one of those circle thingies in the arches, and don't drive over bumps or jumps if you don't need to , they slow you down.

The races are incredibly forgiving and easy.

If I remember correctly I was at Runner 14 when I finished my last gold race.

I also remember I had more difficulty with the ones in the middle. There was one which I ended up running roughly 20+ times.

By the time I hit San Francisco I pretty much one shot every one and I made plenty of mistakes.

Only advice I can give is that whilst boost is your friend, the racing line is your best friend.

Dont be scared to be moving at less than max speed. Just dont hit anything, make sure you tag every arch and dont fly off course on some of the jumps.

    My Racing Tips:

    1. Use a Runner most of the game. It's tempting to use your Challenger or Truck but ranking up Runners is incredibly helpful. At 18 skill you get +16% speed base and enough Boost Amount, Boost Regen and Boost Increase that it really helps shave the time off on challenges. Not only that, but it gets you used to the handling of the Runners and their controls which are much different than vehicles.

    2. Change the Boost hot key. It's pretty hard to try to turn left with A at the same time as going to hit Sprint with Left Shift. I changed it to Mouse 1 and Horn to Mouse 2. Get used to driving like this for a few days so it becomes innate.

    3. No turn on any course requires the hand brake. Just easing off forward (W) and turning that way will keep you going and won't utterly destroy your momentum like the hand brake will.

    4. If you get an event on the track get off the bike and clear it. You'll fail but it'll save you any frustrations when trying running it. Yesterday I had to clear 4 events off a course cause they kept respawning and messing me up but eventually they stayed down.

    5. Certain gates will give you a boost and that means at that section you're supposed to boost on through. For example the first track every gate is a boost gate meaning you're supposed to do it with the boost held down the entire time. Most commonly the game throws you boost gates prior to hills cause it knows hills will destroy your momentum.

    6. Learn the course. There are certain courses where going left of a rock is better than right. Jumping off a hill a certain direction will work better than another. Experiment going through it a few times and figure that stuff out and don't worry about the time. Certain courses (such as the top two in San Fran) require you to land properly in certain spots and boost at the right time so it's good to learn the optimal way to do that.

    7. Gates just have to be passed through even on the sides. You don't have to drive through the middle, just get the credit. Sometimes it's best to go through the edges of the gate because it lines up better for the next gate.

    8. Look where the next gate is and aim for that. Sometimes those gates you can't see under the hills are super far off and tiny so you know you have a dead space to cross and will want to manage your boost smartly.

Those are the things I figured out going through and getting my Golds. By far the biggest one was #1 and #2 for me as I went back and did my golds (had silvers for pursuits before) and was Rank 18 Runners and the whole thing was pretty easy. The two toughest courses I had were the top two in San Fran (single mistake and you lose the gold in many cases) and the one on the far east in Marin.

Some of them are hard, some of them are not., just make sure to not drive during arkfalls.. it will make your time bad..

I spent an entire day just doing races to unlock the black dodge.

^This^ Helped me out more than anything. i think i was trying too hard to go too fast and was making it more difficult. as soon as i read this, i took one course at a mostly slow pace, almost no boost at all (the last 3 min one north of SF bridge), and finished it with PLENTY of time to spare. was shocked actually. after i finished out that area, went back up for bloodbath and did indeed finally finish it.

thanks all for your advice =) Now i juz gotta get passed that overgrown can openeer that guards the golden gate, and ill get the rest of the races done =)
