Warcraft has been out for 8 years. Every time a new exp comes out they still have issues. Pvp and instances are not even opened for weeks to months of the game launch. servers can go down 8 to 24 hours at a time. 8 to 12 hours Maintenance every Tuesday. They put in voice chat then took it back out. Then said we will get back to that sometime in the future. All that and you pay $15 a month to play!! So this game really has had a GREAT LAUNCH...

Same concept, and same response as my previous, if it becomes unexplainable you can request a refund or get one depending on the severity of the situation/scenario presented. Worst case...? your out $15, but thats alright, at least in war craft users can also choose to utilize ip changing and custom mod servers, to play a game when the main systems are down, so that they to can continue their story mode (if thats all they care for) instead of playing the "sit and wait" forever game with patches, etc... But you should know this, after all, doing what is legal and isn't can result in damage/suspension, etc... to your profile/game accounts (unless you of course do it within a limited testing field or a LAN server system) to play WOW on. As for me, i still have and always will hate war craft. Lol long live custom servers, long live the simplicity of hosting a server and knowing with confidence if i do wanna play WOW, i can do so with out need of the primary or main servers, and im able to distribute and enable others to play on my server (of course disabling the real world $$$ costs and or subscription fees, as i can just be the host, with little care of what goes on) alongside being able to watch the server data, and know whats going on in real time if i wanted vs.... getting the telephone game of "this and this is wrong" with the main server and not really or truly know whats going on (when their could be more things going on than what is mentioned*)

    Edit:

Forgot to mention, also war craft users are able to enjoy the game in various outputs, and can port and do so many things with it. Its so much easier to play with, including database editing, and or hosting. This isn't limited to the ability to actually have a game that does function and works more so if not better than most (to the point its boring because you've achieved so much).

Here lets use Jagex (runescape) as a primary example.... their game is simplistic but also a easy MMO, and well governed and managed. If you have gotten ahold of (or know about the rsc, and rs 2) server data and can host, you already realize how easy it is to patch issues, and resolve conflicts. Then again... thats a whole other world as it involves shockwave/microsofts java*, and also sunjava, which requires different code, (which in my opinion makes the game universal and playable on anything, even phones, tablets, and other os's*)

you stand corrected, i dont provide illegal copies of a game, or patched clients, if people wanna use a private server i host, they need to know the ip(s), the ports, and how to configure it themselves. I dont create automated crack utilities that enable others to use content with out legal purchase. You still need to purchase the game(s) of whatever game i decide to host a cracked/legal server on, as long as i (or anyone) doesn't pirate and provide illegal client copies then were in the clear.

    Edit:

I also privately fund my servers, i dont outsource, nor do i ask for donations. Many things that differ from people who do it illegally and those who do not.

Atop that its only for LAN systems or when im actually wanting to play for a story line, that was ages ago. Not like i still do it and even if and or when i do, its for private use as intended, not to be made public to thousands of people around the world. But more so for my own enjoyment to the storyline (so i can have a offline access) and not be screwed outta playing a game online only (same with rsc,and rs2 data) of course i got permission for those two but thats a different tale*

I feel like I just learned a new language and it burns. As a side note, this launch has been pretty good compared to a lot of other games. The game lacks depth but it has plenty of action and more than one way to get to that action. Maybe instead of just saying stuff is broken or incomplete you should go submit actual feedback about what is missing or what the problems are AND how you would fix it.

Ontop of that, yes when i post i feel i do make a difference. Sure the games "constantly evolving" but its online only. How long will these servers hold, if at all stay active? Why not make it a offline based gameplay as well, with patch implemented so that users dont get shafted when servers go down for maintenance*? Switch it around so that it doesn't hamper peoples efforts to play a game in their freetime (and when the only free time they have tends to revolve around when their doing server maintenance) then their just basically screwed.

World of warcraft, ever quest 1 &2, DCUO, Anarchy online, Guild wars, war hammer online, are a few i noticed you mention. From my experience, during their launch it wasn't as horribly rocky as Defiance on launch day. Yes their were issues with getting the product out the door, and onto the shelves, alongside the server load was on a constant high, but their systems were up 24/7, and they were able to pipe out downloads, alongside enable people to play. They, "They" being the companies behind the few games i have mentioned didnt have hours apon hours of server maintenance.

This is the digital age, alota content is becoming more so digital and less so reliant on actual physical means (ex: Discs, etc...)
But at the same time i buy a game i expect it to be functional around the times im playing. Sure ill give defiance this much, its a fun game, but with its heavy instability, its ability to invoke red ring of death on xbox 360 (causing damage/harm to the console itself), alongside causing ps3 freezeups (code issues, not always related to over-heat), and pc over heat (over heats more often than usual(?), alongside causing tons of errors to pop up in the error console (on the pc side, assuming you run pc in debug mode under windows, or pay attention to the logs) on the windows os* you can see the damage it does (slightly) alongside how unstable it is (and how it causes processes to trip up). this leads to the file system and data saves/installs to lead to corruption after so many freezeups, where it will damage the data. Alas, the company doesn't take responsibility for those who were affected by what i mention, they just do what they can now. Im here to remind the community,

It takes tons of patience for a game to get better like this one. Dont waste your money on a semi functional game, until its actually functional, hold off on buying the game, if anything play using a friends disc, or on their console/pc. Get a rough idea if its worth the expense. Then let them judge, because as far as i've seen, i've paid $180+ on all 3 platform titles (ps3, xbox 360, and pc), and i didnt get anywhere near the worth of the "fun" value of the game. Ontop of that it was marketed in a limited testing area, and they used that to show how "epic it is" not really showing those who did pre-order, or those who are not PS+, xbox subscribers, or pc users what they would be getting into.

Ontop of that yes i can deny the fact, but i cannot justify the expense, if you pay for something thats broken, why pay at all? Sure the dev teams working on it, but how many hours, how much of my life, if at all any (or anyones actually) must we waste, and play the waiting game for the game to come back online, and become functional?

This is but one of many irks, and it shouldnt of been a released game if its unstable on this magnitude. Heck i've yet to see any pre-order content i've gotten on any 3 platforms (ps3, 360, or pc) interesting ehh? How long has it been since launch? 8 days, and 2hrs+ and counting, i've yet to see resolution (not on my end and im pretty sure many others as well). DONT go giving me the excuse the devs are doing their best, I KNOW THEY ARE, but its not good enough, its how many days and i alongside many others have yet to get pre-order, or ordered content. So of course ill be royally pissed*

    *NOTE*

Please dont forget, theirs tons of other MMO's out their, that means companies can shadow, and overlook what went wrong with those games, and do their best to prevent issues of this magnitude for this game. Why wasn't this game taking in alota things that coulda been fixed up if they woulda pooled from the collective input not just from alpha and beta testing of defiance, but also looking at other MMOs, and how they had their ups and downs? You know, learn from other companies trial and error? (No need to answer) as im pretty sure only a dev of the game can really answer that question.

Thats just on my end though, i didnt mention the others who are impatient, and wanna beable to play a game they've paid for, but have yet to remotely have their worth or fun in playing for due to time constraints and various other things that would conflict with playing the game*

After all is defined as a game, regardless of its genre, it should beable to be played, not a wait around game.

End summary... Its a one time fee, for something that is barely functional or online. Sure its in the process of being resolved, but to those who do read my posts, dont waste your money on the game.

Dont buy it, look on the forums, and look at how many are still basically left in the dark, sol, or various other things about the game, before you decide to make a risky investment which could end up being a waste of your money altogether (sure its a one time fee, but is it worth it?!).

I feel your more than justified and entitled to your opinion and hatred for the lack of support, or more so, getting what you paid for. My best suggestion, is file a complaint ticket, and see if all goes well. If not well you can always do a ACH backcharge with your bank and get your money back (even though playstation, pc, and 360) say its not able to be done, blah blah blah terms, you as a customer are still entitled to what you pay for, weather digital, or physical. If they dont provide/resolve the problem in a timely manner, then your bank can do what is called a "ACH back Charge" basically refunding you, and then listing the companies(or affiliates) who sold you the digital or physical product as a untrustable source, which if enough people do ACH back charges with their banks due to lack of support, resolution, or replacement/refund of product (digital or physical) then eventually it can stack up to a potential lawsuit. That takes time though, but im pretty sure trion will get on the ball months later after these issues are not resolved. Regardless, use the BBB, after 14-30 days of pending on a response and 0 solution/resolution (reasonable of course) is made on Trions behalf in-regards to defiance (or your ingame purchases) you should beable to get a refund.

In my case it works, Zero online, CQ, and various other MMOs that haven't provided me with a digital product (or intentionally/unintentionally) didnt respond to me or the BBB and or my bank, resulted in my complete and total refund. On the + side, you can also have the bragging rights of such issue and make sure the company is reminded of how they dont care for the consumer(s) or neglect issues*.

I recall a actual lawsuit with TQ Digital entertainment i had in-regards to lack of response (over a year+) alongside not getting digital items purchased. I quickly won back $5 grand alongside forcing the TQ Digital company to respond. Of course i spent my money else-where but i learned something great... Dont let the companies screw you over, or "hide" behind the EULA or pretend they did something when intruth they didnt (weather intentional or not).

I feel the dudes entitled to his own opinion as are you. But then again thats your opinion thinking people dont care. I guess you forget, word of mouth, and what happens (especially with proof and not smoke and mirrors) tends to pull people away from a game, alongside showing the community how "helpful" folks like yourself are.

Trolling someone, putting them down, and repetitively stating their wrong. Hey, look on the upside, i par-take your fine with a half baked game.

Let me guess your another user who is fine with buying a BRAND NEW CAR< known to have faulty AC issues, and you still regardless and oblivious to the instability of the AC, say "oh well, im still paying full price with a faulty machine". I sorta feel like that, everytime i see someone agree with the game being perfectly fine, or giving me the "just wait for it to get better" statement.
I don't get what your talking about to be honest, the only problems i have had so far is that my Ps3 has froze maybe two or three times, i have been playing the hell out of Defiance.
On another note if you don't like the game why are you still posting these long winded posts on here, we get it, your annoyed with the game. Just leave then and let that be that.

Huh? well if you read the entire thread... you'd see where 90% of my posts are responding to, and what about*

As for the problems... i gave up on the 360 side and promptly returned the game 8hours into it due to all the downtime/issues with it and potential red ring of death being a possibility due to the games instability issues.

As for the ps3 side... well i really dont have any complaints.. not more than voice chat, and servers going offline for many hours of maintenance (or so it seems to me)

As for complaining... im complaining about my issues with the game on multiple platforms alongside arguing with the humor in how people can get compensation and or results if they push hard enough, and dont let up.

Thats really it. As for my long posts... its in response to others and trying to compress/not blow up threads with multiple posts, by responding in one, instead of having many posts to respond to many things, instead i post back to many in one large post*

Like I said in other threads for me the game is really good. The only problem (imho) is that I have a lot of difficulties to join shadow war, I can't always wait 3 hours to join a shadow war. They really have to do something about it.

I know a lot about the game now and I also think that they have to do something with the weapons system. It's not so cool to spend a lot of time to power up weapons if at the end of the story I have a little useless +2% bonus here or there... And Legendary weapons are not so... Legendary...
