Well I disagree because there are EGO skills that boost melee. So I think it would be logical to have melee weapons like an officers swird or something. I think you just don't want them because its a TPS and normally would agree if not for those skills.

I could see it working if balanced well and hard to use effectively. But, I wouldn't want to see this until everything else is nice and balanced out, which i don't think they're too far away from.

Without melee weapons blur is kinda dumb.

Yes and no If you blast whoever you are running at with a shotgun and then bash them it works out nicely but I would perfer to just run at a dude with a sword of some kind.

I see melee weapons being another equipment slot, and you're able to swap to them with a double tap of Y or they will be used when you run out of Ammo, it's just a nice safety net or something like that. Definitely more of a use in PvE not PvP at all.
Q: So is this a “soft launch”?
A: No, we do everything hard.

Dont want swords filling my inventory, this is a SHOOTER. You want swords then go play Shaiya or WoW. If you need to melee your enemies enough to need a sword then im sorry but your tactics have clearly failed you.... Harsh but blunt.

Then the game shouldn't enforce a melee playstyle, but it does. Having a bunch of melee perks and a skill dedicated to melee. Wanting a melee weapon is the natural progression when given an entire melee build, with nothing to effectively use with it.

In the main mission The Bunker when Cass and Von Bach toddle of and leave you to protect thier escape for a bit of fun you can pick up the power fist that does ground pound or just smack npc's with it. This weapon turns up later on in another mission, while of limited use it could be the fore runner of a power sword that maybe shoots lightning bolts. Must ask Stark Enterprise's if they are working on it
