'Controlled Burst' mod for AR/SMG/LMG - anyone used this? Need info

Would like to know what exactly it affects before applying, never seen one before! Its bonus is 'Burst +3' - now does that only apply to burst fire weapons, which I would assume? And if so, does it add 3 more shots to the burst or just extend the burst by a % or ?

The mod turns your weapon into a burst-fire weapon. If you attach the Controlled Burst to a full-auto AR... we'll use a Controlled Burst (Burst +3) as an example- your AR becomes a 3-shot burst weapon.

Ah, interesting - any idea if it affects say a TACC AR that is already a burst fire weapon?

It does nothing in a TACC AR.

    that sucks actually...
if it added another three shots to n already 3 shot weapon i think it would be cool seeing as how it will increase DPS a bit granted ammo consumption woudl go up.

Same. I never tried but that would make sense. Especially since it is worded Burst +3 and not something more specific such as "makes weapon fire in 3 round burst" which would make sense to not effect an already burst weapon.

Doesn't do anything to a weapon that is already burst.

So the best gun to use it on would be the purple frontier battle rifle from top notch toolworks, that way you get your most bang for your buck. A high damage single shot assault rifle with a built in scope suddenly having a 3 round burst is great.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

It's makes the FRC Heavy Assault Carbine amazing. That's the single shot with the built-in scope. If you put it on a fully automatic weapon, it makes it a three round burst IF you tap the fire button. If you hold the fire button down, it basically adds two shots between the normal full auto rounds. It doesn't take away full auto. It's quite funny on a SAW if you hold down fire.
