How to tear through weapon levels uber-fast (but accomplish nothing else)

Hey guys, I have recently found a way to level your weapon level really fast. I originally came across it by searching ways to level BMGs ( http://forums.defiance.com/showthrea...904#post263904 ), but it appears this method works for every other weapon. I guarantee you that you will max your weapons in a matter of minutes in some cases. Pistols with huge crit multipliers work best at this. It's very simple:

1: Fill your inventory with non-maxed weapons. Remember that weapons that you have earned maximum experience on don't contribute to your character's weapon level.

2: Go to the San Quentin open quest (the harbor at the northeast side of the map). It doesn't matter if you don't have the quest or finished it, it's an open quest so you can do it as often as you want.

3: Breeze through the 4 turrets. Kill the subsequent mobs quickly with the advanced weapons at the end point.

4: When the Hulker arrives, your payday has arrived. As some of you may or may not know, if you shoot at the upper portion of the Hulker, any weapon you have deals DOUBLE DAMAGE (not critical). This is especially useful for BMG that otherwise level up extremely slowly against regular mobs. Shoot at the head specifically to deal approx 2.5x regular damage. The Hulker has a huge amount of health so shoot away.

5: Now this is important. When the Hulker is almost dead, it will begin its endless charging. LET YOURSELF BE KILLED BY THE HULKER. IN NO CASE SHOULD YOU KILL HIM. When you die, do not self-revive, but instead EXTRACT (press X). This will RESET the Hulker to full health if done properly, allowing you to pump out more and more bullets into him! This can go on forever, and I promise you if you will level all your weapon levels more rapidly than doing regular questing or pvp.

A good thing about the San Quentin quest is that if you go deep enough, no one else enters because it appears to be instanced. This means that you don't have noobs walking around and killing your hulker prematurely.

Now there are also some disadvantages to this method though. The first is that you don't accomplish anything else towards your pursuits (such as killing mobs), so you need to do that separately. The second thing is that it will grow awfully boring. I've been passing hours by listening to audiobooks or the radio to make the long slog bearable. However, it's all worth it in the end, because you will level up your weapons so fast you can reach weapon level 10 in an afternoon of pure non-stop shooting.

Worth doing for "broken" weapons like the bmg, but I would strongly advice people to try level other weapons normally.

Good tip, but I found that doing coop maps is also a fast way to do it.

That there is what you would call an exploit the kind that gets increased Death cost put on the rest of us. I mean its not like there aren't millions of random spawns to just shoot. Now if you killed him over and over it would be different . but the death loophole not cool.

I agree that it is sort of an exploit because respawning has almost no negative consequences. Personally, I think the cost of death is far too low so I welcome an increase in cost. However, I think a more elegant way to fix this without messing with death costs is to put a cap on how much weapon xp can be earned through one single mob.
