Why does it say to be sure to complete Episode Missions before the show airs?

Think of these as seasonal/holiday events. They come and they go. Its been hinted at that they will not be gone forever but no timeframe was given on a return.

Probably a year or two from now (assuming of course the game lasts that long) they'll probably introduce some kind of "flashback" system that'll allow you to play old content.

its more like that the show will start after the "episode missions" - its like a prologue.

Maybe you need to have completed those 4/5 mission to even see the next one on the 15th ? It does seem strange if they remove those first ones though.

SyFy will probably have it up on their website for viewing a few days after it airs...

I cannot see why they would remove anything either... If they remove every episode mission in the game after each episode of the show, after a while that will be a lot of missions, voice acting, etc.. thats just.. gone..

If you watch the sneak preview to the show its the first 15 minutes of the show. There is something in the show that ties back to something that happens in the missons. So I assume they want you to play them so you can catch on to it in the show.

It gives some background to the first episode. If you watch the 14 mins preview of the Pilot you will see something that will seem familiar. And there is even a line Nolan says that you'll know exactly what he's talking about if you do the missions beforehand.

well seeing as how probably about half the total defiance players wont actually be able to watch the show because they dont get syfy in their country and US TV websites are region locked so they cant watch them there either, its not gonna make a lot of difference to a lot of people

There are a lot more places online to watch shows than the TV websites.

Played plenty of MMOs, but to me, the idea of removing content in an already content light game is questionable.

I would be very surprised if they removed The Heist. I think they just wanted current players to see The Heist before the show airs, since that's how it happens chronologically.

If they do remove The Heist (and other Episode Missions), presumably they'd cycle back through them in a few months, when the TV show is done with Season 1.
