I don't see the need for the episodes missions to be taken out once a particular episode airs - you can only ever see the latest one you haven't done - and people that get the game late will miss out on a key part that links the game to the show, as well as the costumes for both Nolan and Irisa.

AND YES! You would be acting like us! Because it's easy for you now to piss on others, because you are safe and sound! So easy talking when you are NOT in the situation we are!

As you are currently pissing on almost the entire European playerbase, who even have their own REGION server!

    So go take a hike!
Trion told you this game ties into something on SyFy. That's where their responsibility ends. If you care about that tie-in, then its on you to make that work (i.e. have access to SyFy). If you can't make it work (e.g. region locking), then you should have known better than to have been interested in this game.

Also, "take a hike!" from the guy who is actively using all-caps, good show. Something about glass houses comes to mind, but I guess that might not be the appropriate line.

Because TRION DID NOT SAY NOR ADVERTISE that Episode missions would be REMOVED from the game and that you NEED to watch the show at the same time as the US!
NOWHERE is that mentioned! Until now in this topic!

And what's the point of having an EU region server, when 90% of the EU population cannot watch the TV show Next week??!

And yes... seeing as to how the Game of Thrones series is worldwide launching and streaming at the same time... I had expected that I at least could stream the TV show of Defiance online!
I had not expected SyFy to feck up again and region Lock the crap out of yet another promising TV show!

I rest my case. And I am done talking to you.

Foot..in..mouth, however I will say it was a moron that made that decision, because thats content devs are taking time to work on and play with when only a number of people will actually have that accomplished, they should have a "THESE ARE TEMPORARY MISSIONS" blinking next to them, guess i'll finish them tonight.. with my moronic a*s

A fair point. But it was not confirmed to be that either (it sounded more like live events than anything). Besides, full enjoyment of the tie-in would still need one to have access to the episodes, so there's little point. You wouldn't want to get ahead of the show in the available missions.

And one (like me) can fully enjoy these episodic missions together With the TV show when it becomes available for me and many others. Be it on DVD or Bluray or later air date on TV. As long as the episode missions remain available in the game, for those that want to (re)do them at a later time.

That is all we are asking for.

And it will also be in TRION's best interest for the longetivity of this game. So New players can still buy the game and join in and experience the Episodic content from the start!

Otherwise this game will die out real quick and New players won't be buying and joining this game anymore.

You wouldn't be buying a TV series and like to be forced to start watching at Season 2, because Season 1 is no longer available.
Then you would pull the finger and go look for a different show instead.

But the problem there (assuming the missions were in game), would be identifying the specific breaks between game and episode. It would be jarring to put that explicitly in game ("please watch episode 6 now").

That is easily fixed by giving the Episode missions the proper tags to tie them to the corresponding TV episode.

Like, Episode 1: Mission "#1", Episode 1: Mission "#2", Episode 2: Mission "#1", etc, etc.

The episodic missions are already dependend on each and follow a chronological order.

So the People that start following the show Next week (like you), will automatically follow the corresponding Episode missions and when completed they will no longer show up and be available (or be added to hopefully a future "rewind" mission log).

This would be a Perfect solution, makes everyone happy! And secures longetivity for this game and gives New players that join later on the opportunity to start watching the TV shows from the beginning and enjoy the episode missions ingame alongside it!

What's the problem With that? I see it as Win-Win solution for EVERYONE!

    ------------------

And on top of that, like many others already pointed out. This game is already light on content.
The Episode missions are currently one of the best and most enjoyable content in the game!
Why on Earth would you remove it? It's just a total waste.

The entire point of this tie-in exercise is to have a "living world" from the TV show to the game, where its all seamless. That "life" is lost if everything is reduced down to a list of quests and missions.

The "content" here is the fact that it is definite. That it does end. That is what gives it life.

And to once again point out, you are highlighting the reasons why I don't think the game should have been sold in those regions. But at this point, I do not believe the artistic integrity of the game should be compromised just so a portion of the playerbase can play through "content."

I will admit ignorance to the purchasing options in Europe, but was there no way to buy online? All that actually matters is the keycode anyway.
Yes, of course we could buy it online in Europe. After finding out I wouldn't be getting my hands on my physical copy in time for the game's launch (due to holidays here in Denmark) I DID buy a second copy on-line. Call me silly, but I actually enjoy running with the wave when the game launches.

Of course, that is only an option for the PC community. Console players MUST get a physical disc, no?
