Where do you get key fragments from?

I have played this game since day one and have a character at EGO Rating 430 and have never managed to find a key fragment, or at least I don't think I have, it is always on 0 on the stats menu.

So where do we get these? I heard if you combine a certain amount of them, you can make a keycode, at the moment I just do this with the ark salvage.

Just to let everyone know, I am talking about key fragments and not keycodes.

no those are keycodes, he's talking about fragments, i have yet to see a fragment in the game, i dotn even know what use they would be since keycodes are easy to get

It's probably on one of the splash screens while loading.

Originally, it was kind of an odd system where you would get fragments, that would then add up to full keys. And then you'd need something like 1-4 keys to get a lockbox, depending on the Tier. BUT you'd need a decent amount of fragments to get even one solid key. So, it's not like people were buying T4s every 30 minutes.

The new way just makes it easier for people to comprehend. 'Here's a key. You need x keys to get a lockbox.'

Yep. Pretty much. Unless they have some future purpose for them. Which I highly doubt.

aren't fragments the green things, 1000 to get a key, the result of breaking down items?
thought it was keys, code fragments, scrip, and bits. Am I missing one?
