i am at 20 000 to remove my mods on one of my guns your kidding right?
then if i what to put a slot on thats 12 000.
    Wait till you get higher.

This pistol I was talking about need all 4 mod slots. I've added 3. The first cost nothing. The second cost 14k, the third cost over 20k.
The last one that I still need, 48k resources.

That right there is over 80 keys I could have gotten.

Thats 3 t3 locked boxes and then some.

If you're going to make me spend that on a gun, let me use it FFS. JK after 2 hours find a new one!

Imagine if I was an even higher ego rating...

    IT'S JUST ANNOYING!

    Annoying =/= Challenging

I wouldn't care if they doubled the time it takes to get levels if I could use the guns I want to get them. For example I found a pistol today that I LOVE! I've tried every other pistol I've come along and this is the first one I can truly say I enjoy. Sadly my pistol skill is only at 4, and when I max this gun out I'm left with 2 options.

    1. Stay forever at pistol level 4 unless on the off chance I find a gun like this again, then maybe I can hit 5!
    2. Level up 50 pistols I hate, across countless hours of gameplay so I can use this 1 gun I enjoy.

I'm sorry, but that is ****ing dumb.
Well when you play other MMO once you level up you have to get a new weapon and can't take your grinds or + to weapons, In this game there only 4 kinds of weapons and the color only add buff to your weapon. Stats are about the same. '

If you get your way I can go and get 2 weapon main and back up and never find better weapon because stats are the same and ego mean nothing.

Once you find the best place to level its alot easy. People only do arkfall and you get no weapon exp there. I don't understand why its taking forever for you to get a 5.

No need to put mod on your guns into they 20. If you want mod on your low gear when you leveling it just buy level 1. From level 1 to 3 its not a huge different once you hit 20 then put level 3 mods on.

Alright..so after 6 pages of whining, hating and general nonsense, figured I'd just skip ahead. No idea what the last 12 pages were about but likely not much.

Someone mentioned before an alternative so here is my idea. That falls in line with what we alreayd have and won't result in any broken mechanics (I think).

Much like how we can invest into a weapon for mod slots, we should be able to invest into a weapon to level it up. We can do this a few ways:

    1. You spend salvage on a weapon only once it has hit max level, to level up the gun. Either it tosses a Lvl. 2-x on the gun or maybe they can get fancy and give the gun level names that appear before the gun name like "Menacing" "Killer" or wtf ever. In either case, it results in the gun having a second level and you can keep using it. Each time you level it, you get another bonus.

Being able to level up a gun should be based on something such as:
    • Ego level- 500,1000,1500,2000 ETC, allows you to level up a gun further
    • The weapons rarity, the more rare a weapon is, the more times you can level it.
    • That gun class, then it makes more sense to use other guns, just so you can go back and level up your favorite.
    • Or perhaps, for the sake of content and just more crap on the map. Have Gun smiths, hidden around the world, each gun smith more adept than another. You spend money and script to up the gun and then have to take it to a new smith to up it again.

There needs to be more of a reason why we bother upping our EGO ratings. All of the skills in the game are pretty meh. Most of us will be using the same builds just based on the power we go with or guns we prefer. I get you want to make it a shallow pool so we can all play in it..but that just makes the game suck for everyone.

Furthermore you can increase the levels of all mods (More items- YAY!) so that only mods of equal or lesser level can be equipped to a gun.

Oh, and to address one other complaint of people never using other guns. If the upgrade unlock you get is completely random. I don't know about you all, but I would spend alot of time ranking up alot of guns of the same types in hopes of getting the perfect assortment of boosts on it.

    -pulls a Steve Jobs-

Oh, and one more thing. If you did go this rout, it would be a huge boost to the trading economy. As people begin to trade more for weapons with the boosts they like. You could even go as far as to lable it the Ark Hunters Trade. Not just getting ark salvage, but crafting the perfect weapons through combat.

PS. if you are going to have the same crappy shields and grandes..how about letting us mod those too. Shields can have slots of capacity, recharge delay, recharge rate and special ability boost. Grades can have mod slots for fuse(time), Material (damage type), Explosive (Area affected) and something else of recharge delay.
