DLC Races

Ok you are never given the chance to swap a race on a char without starting over... Where are you people getting this from. unless they do a pay for option.

I would hope they would have some type of race respec, and why should you have to pay real money when you already payed for the dlc? I mean in game money would be alright, or ark salvage but actual money after already buying the dlc sounds crazy

Maybe they'll allow a "race respec" when they included that with an overall "costume/bodytype" change feature. Either way it ought to have some kind of semi-prohibitive cost to it so that people don't start toggling their race every five minutes.

There are MMOs where you can change your race, one thing to note is that the DLC is going to be free* so if I can't get an option to change my race I simply wont buy the DLC.

Then again... I still haven't seen a Sensoth yet, spent too much time messing around on alts in the starter areas.

Anywho, would be nice if there were two variants of character alteration in-game. A paid version from the store that allows you to change the whole lot, race, gender, everything, and a version in-game where you pay scrip or resources in order to change hair, skin colour, eye colour, add/remove face-paint and blemishes etc, but no huge changes like race, gender, or starting class. (Although I wouldn't mind being able to buy the outfits from somewhere anyway)

I'd love it to be a free option, but Defiance needs to make its money somehow, and despite a few hiccups to my experience with the game, I would like to help support it and the developers.

We could use a few less humanoid races, but from what I've seen of the lore the majority of Votan species seem to at least have a semi-human build, with a few exceptions. Plus its easier for the devs to make humanoid races. Still with the amount there are, I wouldn't mind seeing three or four new races added, might add a little diversity to the characters. Options are a little limited right now, not that I'm complaining. (Wouldn't mind some long hairstyles for males though Trion, hint hint)
