DLC Races

We could use a few less humanoid races, but from what I've seen of the lore the majority of Votan species seem to at least have a semi-human build, with a few exceptions. Plus its easier for the devs to make humanoid races. Still with the amount there are, I wouldn't mind seeing three or four new races added, might add a little diversity to the characters. Options are a little limited right now, not that I'm complaining. (Wouldn't mind some long hairstyles for males though Trion, hint hint)

Remember this is also made for TV and special effects for TV shows are expensive. The last TV show that I really enjoyed that had great, non human, aliens, was Farscape. It merged muppets with Claudia Black to great effect. Unfortunately its just cheaper to make things on computer, and "photo realistic" 3d dose not age very well.

if they added it i'd hope they charge, not an unreasonable amount mind you, but enough that not everybody makes the switch, your character needs to be at least semi-permanent in the game world and we don't want everybody just changing to the FoTM species.

My bet is they will offer an expensive cash shop or account based option to change race/gender. I for one will NOT be regrinding this same stuff again; it's boring and extremely repetitious as it is with one character.

So, can anyone explain the advantages of changing race/gender anyways in Defiance and how that breaks the game? It's not like there is any racial bonuses or anything like that: there is no distinction between the races other than looks and even that is hard to tell due to lack luster models/animations/cosmetic choices on char creation.

Guys, you do realize, that those "DLC" races, are just skins.
No unique voice, No unique animations, the only difference is the face, and colors.
The story is the same, the weapons are the same.
Why would you pay for new races?

im really hoping it'll give us the chance to re-spec to the new race,,,,

ive got the season pass,, but doubt i'd be using the feature of starting fresh every time a new dlc comes out,,, after all, i wanna play the new missions that come out with the dlc,, not all the ones i did before

yeah they currently have no incentive to make a new character. Period.
