Console Beta realease date

ok this is kinda getting dumb, this is the last month till the game is release, I just don't see why not tell us when it will come out so we can start giving the word out because nobody on my xbox live list even heard of defiance.

I'm with y'all, what's the harm in giving us at least a date they will at least announce the dates of the beta, we just keep getting soon, and then on the last stream they talk about another PC beta! Starting to feel like I'm at work, hurry up and wait

I already pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition at Ebgames but there is no mention of a Console beta. It would suck if I don't get access to it. Since I live in Canada I wonder if they are only offering it to American retailers. Bestbuy.com talks about the beta but Bestbuy.ca doesn't even have Defiance listed on the site.

* Update after I did some digging on other Forums it seems that Ebgames Canada tends to hide beta codes sometimes or they might receive them and give me a call. I just have to be patient and see what happens.

I heard very little of this game last year but after seeing that 1hr IGN video I got hooked. I barely play any MMO's since my last one I played was Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast.
I know i am not the only one who wants to play this game bad.

I'm not sure how Ebgames will do it,but Gamestop didn't have the beta listed as a preorder bonus either and I still got the code to register it on trionworlds.com on my receipt. I assume they will send out codes to those who register their preorders on the site.

ya come on the pc already has had 2 beta events and has alpha.ps3 & 360 has had nither so hearing talk about another pc beta event sound and seems like a middle finger to the console gamers

Amazon have said they are sending out xbox beta event codes for the 15th-18th only for people who preordered tho.

Boy, Trion is really ****ting the bed. The Von Bach site was released in December...waiting over two months for an announcement isn't 'soon'. I'm just curious whether they're viewing console gamers as second-rate, are nervous about releasing it as it won't perform well, or if they really are this ******ed/unaware.

You have the first tps mmo on consoles, and what I feel is the first true MMO on xbox 360....do something with that. Instead of making 5 minute live action trailers, getting a simple phrase like 'first tps mmo on consoles' would have been much more effective. But that's what you get when you require someone to have a piece of paper (degree) in order to market for you.

By now I would've released a Beta. That's just me. I want people to have ebough time to find some bugs that were missed and to really analyze the data that they recieve.

You really should think about what you say, before you say it. It is very difficult to do a beta for an MMO on consoles. Trion updates their betas/alphas multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. And in order to do this on consoles, they would have to go through microsofts and sonys QA team with each patch, which would slow down the development of the game. Also, its nearly impossible to write a proper bug report on console. The majority of the bug reporting is done in game so they can get data on how the bug occurred, along with your sometimes multi-paragraph description of the bug. Unless you have a keyboard hooked up to your xbox, you're not going to be writing worth while bug reports.

The only reason to do a console beta, is to stress test it, and make sure everything works the same on console as it did on PC. There honestly, is no reason to have a true console beta/alpha when you can do everything much faster and more efficiently on PC. When was the last time you guys had a true console beta? The betas are all done on PC because its nearly impossible to do a proper beta on console, for the reasons I have already mentioned.

No, Trion is not ****ting the bed, they are simply trying to make the game the best it can be. The Betas are not meant to be a demo, so stop with your self entitled attitude, and wait for the game like an adult.
