Hauler Exploitation

More and more I see people abusing the quest hauler for arkfalls, there is no reason these vehicles need such a high durability and damage that people are able to exploit them. It interferes with the normal gameplay for anyone else at these arkfalls when they cannot get ammo, arktech, or scrip because these players are running over everything.

They shove mobs out of target, interfere with sight when they're right on top or in front of us blocking our view and aiming. They refuse to finish this quest just so they can exploit the truck day after day at every arkfall event.

Personally I don't see why both damage and durability can't be dropped to 50 or less, the quest doesn't need them to run down anyone just arrive at locations and be done and it would put an end to all this garbage.

This is also one of my annoyances, I see this time and again and it is stupid, especially when combined with the hellion glitch where taking a monarch too far from area can cause it to respawn with full health.

I realized this Exploit in the last beta on the PS3. Didn't realize how bad it was . I'm not Against Vehicles in Arkfalls. More I feel people should learn the types of Arkfalls before they do it. I've used My dodge to Clear Waves of Hell bugs when Soloing a Minor AF. I also know that some AF's there are NPC's you Don't want to kill. Takes some level of common sense.Hell I want a Cerberus for Major Arkfall's. But the Hauler is a special case as it serves no other purpose except for that mission.So yeah it should be a nerfed version specially since the Mission never really takes the Hauler into direct combat anyway.

OMG I agree completely 100% with you! I was doing a major arkfall today and there was this frakking idiot driving Hauler in EVERY single part before the Mature Hellbug Hellion shows up...I wasn't the only one complaining about it either. I saw like 3 or 4 other people telling him to take the truck somewhere else in the chat window. I think they should implement some sort of blocking wall or something that prevents you from driving a vehicle directly into these major arkfalls, especially if it's a hauler as that is a mission vehicle...

i just got to that mission and the first thing i wanted to do was take it to arkfalls.. its SO Beast!! I ended up bouncing on the hellion Luke a trampoline. Twas epic

I'm guessing restricting the hauler to a specific mission area would be a quick fix for this, where driving out of the mission area/roads would cause the player to be ejected from the hauler and restart the mission.

Other vehicle types are also causing problems at arkfalls, especially the ones where you want to avoid killing hellbug skitterlings or scapper mongrels; Maybe a moderate DoT on vehicles within arkfall zones will help. It's won't affect those driving to the arkfalls, and still allows those who want to mow down things with their vehicles, albeit for a limited duration only before having to get out and summoning the vehicle again.

What really kills me is one person was going on about how he was doing 2k damage, I do more damage in a short burst from my LMG than that yet they seem to think they're doing great. All they're really doing is constantly shoving the hellion out of target for anyone who's gotten a bead on it, and aiming at the glands mid fight isn't easy.

What's also just as bad is after they've knocked it out of your targeting their truck is usually right on top or in front of you stopping you from re-acquiring a target, combine this with getting targeted yourself by the hellion and/or other mobs and it's a real PITA.

We also have the problem where you have to destroy the crystal, with people running over ever skiiterling before they can bite the crystal I've seen it delay the destruction so long that we lost. That only happens if you're not at the site right away but still, I happens, it also takes a LOT longer to finish either way.

The normal vehicles do not block sight nearly as much as the hauler, they can be a pain too but usually newbs get the idea that it's not a good tactic except in extreme circumstances. (ie the area is over packed with mobs). I have as much fun, maybe a bit more, than most running down mobs with a car or atv but I try to stick to running them down on the road, like a normal driver

Bottom line, with the haulers at arkfalls, it's abusive of the system and interferes with normal gameplay.

Can't complain with a 250+ kill count and 800k pts at the end of the Arkfalls now can we?
