Fun fact: They chose St. Louis because the Gateway Arch kinda looks like a Halo

    Okay, that's probably not true.

But I bet I wasn't the only one thinking that.

    Or maybe I was.

You MMO players are familiar with Halo, right?

Microsoft's hugely popular science fiction franchise, best known for the first person shooter games developed by Bungie and 343 Industries?

Well the Halo series is named after these genocidal ringworld megastructures in the game that were created by a race of highly advanced aliens. They had been fighting a losing battle against a parasitic life form known as the Flood, and used the Halos against themselves and the rest of the galaxy in an attempt to starve the parasites by killing their food source.

The broken gateway arch in those promotional shots kinda looks like one of the Halos.

I also noticed when they're exploring the arkfall wreckage in the 14 minute preview, the interior looks like it was designed by the Covenant.

    I like that.

You can tell the creators of Defiance were inspired by the Halo series, and aren't just ripping it off like that James Cameron guy.

In the 14 minute preview I knew the interior looked like something I saw before now that you pointed at the Covenant I see now.

I thought they chose it because they wanted a monument everyone would recognize without the (now)cliche half buried Statue of Liberty

It seriously ressembles the round thing on the alien Votan spaceships... What is the function of those rings. It looks so identical that I already have a theory about aliens who are rebuilding the St Louis arch as a half underground power unit or alien fusion reactor to power up the city shields. I see no other purpose to have such rings on a space ship that to play with the resemblance with the arch.

    Really?

Obviously you're half way stupid, because the St. Louis arch has been around before halo was even thought of, and not to mention you need to go back to school and retake american history if you think im wrong. Plus they chose the St. Louis Arch due to it being an iconic structure that alot of people world wide know about, so good day to you.

So Explaining we really HAVE a Defiance Missouri (right outside of St Louis) would also be a Halo thing? *Sigh

I need a Facepalm gif too.
