I like useful pets.. useless pets I agree are unneeded.

You get armored vehicles some w/ weapons mounted on them, I think that might be their version of pets.

Yeah you do get vehicles in the game that you can spawn from your inventory but we call those mounts not pets. Pets are usually animals that just follow you around and do nothing. Companion type pets might be cool as long as they help you in fights or something.
