Actually Ryan left to work for IGN for like 6 months or a year ago. Shows you what you know. Huge epic fail.

I do agree he is out of touch. On his podcasts for OXM he came off very condensing often and very entitled. Anything he says is with a grain of salt.

But what I'm happy with is Trion runs the site here very well. Take a look at how poorly -- and I do mean POORLY -- 343 Industries s running Halo Waypoint. It has become a **** ghetto. Any self respecting Halo fan would not be caught dead there.

Yes. 343 Industries is that bad running Waypoint.

    Disgusting.

Bad reviews don´t matter to me. I play because I have fun and not because journalists (they are no real gamers) say it`s bad. For example gametrailers always give CoD-games the best reviews/scores. Why that? I hate CoD since MW II because it´s everytime the same, nothing really new, stupid AI, unrealistic gunplay and bad graphics, the only thing I like about Black Ops and Black Ops 2 is the zombie-mode because with 3 friends it is awesome and i have fun with it. It´s also a matter of taste, and Defiance tastes really delicious in MY mouth!
When I was little, we found a man. He looked like, butchered. The old woman in the village crossed themselves... and whispered crazy things, strange things. "El Diablo cazador de hombres." Only in the hottest years this happens. And this year, it grows hot. We begin finding our men. We found them sometimes without their skins... and sometimes much, much worse. "El cazador trofeo de los hombres" means the demon who makes trophies of men.

but if you look elsewhere its a different story, I spend a lot of time on youtube and follow a lot of respected youtubers who do content on video games, one thing I like about these people is that they seem to have more sense then most 'journalists' ive come across so far to do with this game. by that I mean most of them have not reviewed it yet, they have given there opinions of it in its current state and have said they will talk more about the game as it progresses, most of them have said they think its a pretty solid game so far and were surprised by it seeing as how low key of a release it was. i think its unfair to review an mmo during its first week. Reviewers should give an honest opinion of a game, but i think its unfair to give a score to an mmo during its first week.

Plus a 6?!?! oxm also gave colonial marines a 6! its literally mind boggling
with journo's its how much you pay them, if you are owned by a loved big player(EA loved by media).
look at COD for years it has got 10/10 from most reviews but its not changed or progressed in last 4 outings.
I always take any review with pinch of salt.

yeh totally, i think one of the main points i wanted to make with this post tho is how reviewers opinions can be so different now to gamers, its becoming a wider divide of opinion the more mainstream gaming is becoming......what i mean is, they are becoming more and more full of bull****

Ever heard of Yahtzee? Lol I love his "reviews"

So true, just look @ metacritic and compare the journalists reviews with the gamers. They are really differing. I also have to say that I often played games that got bashed by reviews really hard and in the end I enjoyed them. Let me be clear, knowing very much gamers I can say reviews are almost needless for the majority of gamers, because they are very often better informed than game journalists. Maybe for new or younger gamers. xD

Personally, I really hate Metacritic. It's had a terrible effect on the industry. The user reviews on there are a bad joke. Filled with trolling idiots, marketeers and white knights. The scoring system is a joke and we now have a situation where people actually don't get paid if they don't get a high enough score on that cancerous blight. Disgusting

I hate it too but there you can see the big differences between journalists and gamers.

A few years back I would have agreed with you. In the last 2 maybe 3 years the user reviews section has become a magnet for idiots and publicists. Occasionally games do get the score they deserve like Aliens. It's quite hard to find a site these days that has balanced reviews and keeps the kiddies out.

Reviews... The problem with game reviews is they are always biest. What the reviewer doesn't like I may like, Same with Movie reviews. Review should be called opinions not reviews because we all know they're giving there opinion not a review.

I will say Twitch is great if you can find they game your looking to buy. Usually you can always find a stream of the game when it first comes out. You can watch someone play the game and ask questions most of the time. Then you can make up your own mind if that's the game for you.

On the COD and Black Ops thing. I stoped buying them because there just a 60 dollar expansion. Same with any of the sports games. I like Pve more then PvP so I get bored after a couple of rounds. That's my opinion not a review....lol
