Dodge Challenger: What's the point of other vehicles?

The point of other vehicles is that it looks cool when a group of players finish one part of a major ark fall and take off for the next one in a variety of vehicles. I've got my preorder Challenger, 2 Growler Pros, 3 Hannibals, and 3 Dunis. Some unlocked, some bought, but I switch around. Partial to the Hannibals and Dunis.

Challenger is definitely the faster of the two (compared to the Duni) but only on straight aways and roads. Duni gets better mileage off-road but it's definitely a lot more fragile than the Challenger. The RM Nomad is easily the most survivable, able to take out a legion of hellbugs using only the front bumper. Runners are best for squeezing in tight spaces and maneuvering through obstacle laden terrain.

challenger looks cool, but it handles like *** and can't do hills.

but I have a better question, when are the non steam pre-orders gonna get something more substantial then the challenger, Im ever so slightly dissapointed that the only truck in the game was part of a timed retailer exclusive.

I've got Red/Orange/Black challengers. Black is same as red except it has more armor or damage can't remember. Orange Hemi is the fastest (so far), has 30.1 max I think. I still always use Nomad though, I like running people over and go off road.

Thanks for the replies. It does make sense that the Challenger would only be strong on roads, in terms of realism, but I don't take anything like that for granted in MMOs, since it's pretty much all a stat that the devs may or may not think to include. I do wish they were more clear about the strengths and disadvantages of some of the vehicle types, but I suppose that's something for later.

I'm pretty sure the whole pre-order advertising was that pre-order and get the fastest car in the game. So for speed I'd be a bit annoyed pre-ordering and finding something faster.

The main draw of the Challenger to me (other than looking great) is the passenger seat. My wife is terrible at driving in this game, so it just makes things easier if I drive her around. Just like real life...I kid I kid!

I love dunis, they handle great, good off road, you can hop right in (compared to challengers, where you have to make sure you are on the correct side) good speed, much QUIETER, good speed, looks great (yay wheel spikes)

I like using dunis for long drives, and Hanibals for short drives.

Driving Challengers remind me of my old 1990 buick LeSabre, man what a boat

I'm pretty sure it says right in the description of the challenger "the fastest roller" and with them being the major sponsor of the game it makes sense that they would have some sort of special agreement for it to be the fastest because they want people to use them and they want other people to see them being used..... kinda sucks that this happens but at least the game got made I guess....

i swear i have to turn down my volume to 1 or else i may get a noise complaint!

but seriously, it's mostly about style

if motorcycles are ever added... my other vehicles will never see the light of day again
