Have you ever seen a Purple or Orange item drop?

i have had loads of purple drops, level 400+, my friend is level 200 and something and has 3 orange weapons, its just luck man, but it would be nice to know one thing.....i have seen a few orange items on the floor but when i pick them up they are just white crap weapons!?!?! any one else experienced this?

You mean the bright orange "Hey Pick Me up" blob? yeah I get that also i think everyone get's it. I think it's just to let you know instead of ammo / script its "Hey cool <insert item here> Dropped for you" Also it help when things drop in the tall grass sometimes.

currently 480 with no perks

everyone ive picked up like that has element dmg so inclined to say its got element on the weapon

yeh im in the 400's too man, no boosts either, **** boosts

so i noticed 3 times today while doing 2 missions and 1 roadside encounter, i noticed that 3 drops had purple lettering, but no colored glow to it. which i though cool, maybe i just got purple drops. but after i pick em up in my inventory they go to green and blue. 2 grenades and 1 sniper. anybody else have weird experiences like that?
